Should toilet paper be thrown into the basket or washed away?

China began to popularize toilets on a large scale, but it has been nearly twenty years. The early toilets were not strong enough, and the sewers in residential areas were not smooth, which often led to the toilet being unable to flush.

We have done wetting tests of different toilet papers before, and found that some toilet papers still have strong toughness after being soaked in water, and these infusible toilet papers also aggravate the toilet blockage. So when I was a child, adults often told me to throw toilet paper into the wastebasket after going to the toilet, not into the toilet.

As a result, China people saw a wastebasket next to the toilet when they arrived in Japan, so they threw it away. I don't know that the toilet paper used by Japanese people is basically soluble, and it will decompose itself after rushing into the sewer, so there is no need to throw it away.
