"Hometown Water" of Guangzhou White Swan Hotel (Tibetan Poetry)

In Shamian, Guangzhou, friends and relatives suggested that since we are here, we should go to the White Swan Hotel. Think about what the hotel has to see. Maybe the children will like it. Then take a look and leave. Walking on the main road with artworks on both sides is like walking in the Shenzhen subway full of artistic flavor. No surprises.

I didn't feel anything special until I was attracted by the sudden waterfall sound after entering the lobby. Looking closely again, I found the words "hometown water" and "Don't come here the most" written by Henry Fok. My feet seemed to have taken root and I couldn't move any more.

At first, I had a little contempt for this hotel. Isn't it the tap water in Guangzhou? How can it compare with the water in my hometown? Later, after reading the introduction, many overseas Chinese will burst into tears when they arrive here. For them, as long as they arrive in China, they will return home. China is their hometown.

I think of my relatives who have left their hometown and fled abroad, and the Qian Qian Hakkas who have drifted overseas. I also think of myself and my peers who have left home to take root in other cities, and I can't help but feel deeply.

For a Hakka, even if he leaves his hometown, he usually keeps his family tree. Yes, even if you can never go back to your hometown, you still have "eternal love". In our Hakkas, almost every family has its own genealogy. For example, our Zou family was the champion of the Southern Song Dynasty.

It's nothing like what people in other places say. How many people still know the names of their ancestors three generations ago? But we know the names of dozens of generations of descendants and the story of how our ancestors went south from Fujian and Jiangxi to Xingning in Meizhou during the war. Some villagers organize to go to Fujian or Jiangxi to worship their ancestors every year. Yes, even if the local accent has changed, it is because of the roots of genealogy and generations.

Our country doesn't worship gods as some foreign countries do. Most of us believe in ancestor worship, which may be one of the main reasons why Chinese descendants can live endlessly in China. Although in terms of time and space, we can't stop the fact that "waves are meaningless to the East", no matter where you are, "friends and relatives are full of affection".

I remember very clearly that whenever there is any charity in the village to raise money, my grandfather will write and send it to relatives and friends overseas, and they will also give generously. Needless to say, many spacious township roads, city roads, schools and hospitals in our hometown are donated by overseas Chinese. This may be the main reason why Meizhou has become the hometown of overseas Chinese and one of the regions where overseas Chinese have contributed the most.
