Changtai Expressway is a national tenth five-year plan and a key traffic project in Jiangxi Province. The route starts from Changfu Town, Zhangshu City, passes through Xinyu City, Xiajiang County, Jishui County, Jizhou District, Ji 'an City and other five counties (urban areas), and ends in Mashi, Taihe County, connecting with the soon-to-be-opened Tai-Gan Expressway, with a total length of 147.73 km.

Changtai Expressway is designed as a two-way four-lane expressway with a design speed of 100km/h, a design width of 26 meters and a design width of 23 meters, and adopts asphalt concrete pavement structure. Isolation barriers, collision barriers, signs, markings, communication, monitoring and charging systems, service areas, maintenance centers, main line toll stations and parking areas are set up along the whole line, and ramp toll stations and management offices are set up at the interchange. Construction started on June 28th, 2000/KLOC-0, and was completed and opened to traffic on June 28th, 2003.

Changtai Expressway is an important part of the traffic artery running through the north and south of Jiangxi Province and the "two vertical, four horizontal and one oblique" traffic network in Jiangxi Province.
