Chun Yuyi's introduction:

Chun Yuyi (about 205 BC -?), a native of Linzi (now northeast of Zibo, Shandong) in the early Western Han Dynasty, had a surname of Chunyu and a given name of Yi. Chunyu Yi once served as the Taicang Order of Qi Dynasty. He was a master of medicine, differentiated syndromes and examined pulses, and had many experiences in treating diseases. He once studied medicine from Gongsun Guangguang, and also studied Huangdi and Bian Que's pulse calligraphy from Gongcheng Yangqing. Later, he was convicted and sentenced for some reason. His daughter Tiying wrote to Emperor Wen that she would be spared by taking her own life.

Chun Yu intended to dedicate himself to medicine, resigned from his official position, and stopped building property. He practiced medicine among the people for a long time, but refused to follow the feudal princes. The kings of Zhao, Jiaoxi, Jinan and Wu all called him to be a court doctor, but he declined them all. Because he often refused to visit the wealthy and powerful Gao Di to practice medicine, he was accused by rich and powerful people and sent to Chang'an, the capital, to be tortured.

"Historical Records" records 25 of his medical cases, called "clinical records", which are the earliest existing medical records in China.
