What is the relationship between national folklore and hotel management?

With the rise and development of tourism in contemporary China, the importance of folk customs in tourism is gradually recognized by people. As more and more people realize that folk resources can be used as a source of attraction for tourists and exploited by tourism, many successful attempts have been made in China. At the same time, many folk customs have been introduced into the field of tourism teaching and tourism research. Textbooks, monographs and papers have been published one after another, and many tourism colleges have also set up related courses. In a word, it has gradually become a climate to carry out folklore research, teaching and development from the perspective of tourism. It is in this context that the Ministry of Education has determined "Chinese and foreign folk customs" as a compulsory and compulsory course for the self-study exam of hotel management specialty.

The reason why I want to write this book from the perspective of reception is mainly determined by the talent training goal of hotel management major. The specialty of hotel management at the junior college level is mainly to train transportation service and management talents for the hotel as a tourist reception unit. For them, the reason why they want to understand Chinese and foreign folk customs should never be understood from the perspective of resource development, let alone arrange the course content from this perspective, but should be based on their future practical work, that is, the needs of tourism reception and service. In this way, the most fundamental principle of selecting content in this book is clarified, that is, the principle of serving the needs of tourists. In other words, we should choose those folk customs that are most closely related to tourism reception. The chapters of this book are all designed and constructed under the guidance of this principle.
