How much does a four-day tour of North Korea cost?
How many kilometers is a four-day trip to North Korea? It is about 1,5 kilometers, mainly visiting North Korean tourist attractions: Ximen Street, Wushan Park, Fagu Temple, Water Park and Aigen Mountain in Pyongyang. Lucky trip to North Korea-Itinerary
I'm lazy again. I don't write my travel notes so carefully. I just write whatever comes to my mind, because I have basically paid the money. During my four days in North Korea, you don't have to worry about anything. All the arrangements are properly arranged by the DPRK. Just feel, see and listen with your heart.
It's no exaggeration to say that even if you don't bring a dime, you can play for four days. No one will force you to shop, and no one will give you a hard time. You don't have to worry about having no money to eat. Of course, everyone travels for different purposes. If you are not interested in Korean specialties such as Korean ginseng, Angong Niuhuang Pills (items restricted by China Customs) and cigarettes, you will not have any big consumption, so you can have fun. The purpose of my visit to North Korea this time is simply to have a look and feel, so there is basically no consumption, and the whole journey is very comfortable.
There are generally one-day, four-day, five-day and seven-day tours to the DPRK, among which the four-day tour is quite popular. North Korea is not allowed to travel freely, but can only join a group. The meaning of joining a group does not mean that many people must join a group, but there are also small groups of two people or even one person. It is specially customized, and the cost will be higher, but it must also be accompanied by North Korean personnel all the time. All foreign tourists in North Korea are not allowed to move freely. All tourist routes are arranged by the DPRK, and you can't go to any city you want, so you will see that all the same type of tour groups have the same routes and go to any scenic spot. Going out for a walk or even going to the toilet has to be taken by a tour guide. It sounds scary, but in fact, there is no need to worry at all. These will definitely not affect the mood of traveling, because the service of the North Korean tour guide is really impeccable and will not make you feel any discomfort. Most people who travel here do their homework in advance, so it is very important to respect others' national conditions.
according to different modes of transportation, there are train groups and plane groups. Generally, the train groups fly directly from Dandong to Pyongyang, and the plane groups fly directly from Beijing to Pyongyang, and there are also flights from Shenyang to Pyongyang. The prices are just different.
No matter which channel the tour group reported in China, it will be received by the DPRK tour guide and the DPRK staff after arriving in the DPRK, which means that once it arrives in the DPRK, the entire tour group will be taken over by the DPRK tour guide, and although the Chinese tour guide will leave the country with the tour group (the customized tour group may not follow, but it was also received by the DPRK in the past), it is only a leader role to assist in docking, and no specific tour guide explanation service will be provided. The North Korean tour guide told me that there are more than ten travel agencies in North Korea, all of which are state-owned, the largest of which is North Korea International Travel Service (Figure 1 below), in addition to North Korea Sports Travel Service (Figure 2 below), Taekwondo Travel Service, Korea Airlines, Korea Travel Service and so on. Different Chinese travel agencies dock with different North Korean travel agencies, so the channels for reporting to the group are different, and the North Korean travel agency that receives you is different. The travel service in North Korea is quite good. Basically, you don't have to worry too much about the problems of the North Korean tour guides. On the contrary, the Chinese tour guides need to pay a little attention here. Although they used to be hosted by the North Korean side after that, the Chinese tour guides still need to help with some formalities and docking work and organize team members when they leave the country and return to China. The experience and ability of tour guides are very important. For example, when we return home, a young tour leader (Chinese tour guide) of the same group next door to the car is not particularly clear about the requirements of China Customs. If you ask questions carefully, you will not know. Our tour leader (Chinese tour guide) is very powerful. He has been a veteran of traveling to the DPRK for more than ten years, and he knows exactly what he can and can't take. The customs also teaches you how to take back what is restricted (quantity). Those who know the border guard when leaving the country can have priority in security inspection; It can be said that it is very excellent.
Registration: I signed up directly at a travel agency in Feizhu because of my urgent schedule. There are 95 international trains, all of which are berths (hard-seat groups seem to be cheaper), and four-day tours (actually only two days, the first and fourth days are on the train). The cost is 288 RMB, including the departure from Dandong and the return. Accommodation in Dandong and expenses from other parts of China to Dandong are self-care.
Visa: After paying the money, send the 2-inch photo, passport home page and ID photo to the travel agency, and the travel agency will help you with it. North Korea does not accept individual visa applications, so it can only sign in groups. Just remember to bring the original passport with you and ask the tour guide to get the visa page when you leave. It is very convenient. An interesting thing is to interrupt. An aunt in our company was careless and used an old passport when she signed up, so her visa and train ticket were all marked with the passport number of the old passport, but on the day of her departure, she took a new passport, didn't bring the old passport, didn't even have a photo of the old passport, and the passport and visa didn't match the passport number on the ticket. The ticket inspector refused to let her into the waiting room. Fortunately, the staff here at Dandong International Travel Service was also very helpful and communicated with the DPRK in time. You may not believe it if you modify the visa page on the spot. The DPRK Customs erased the original passport number on her visa page with a correction fluid (that is, the correction fluid we used in primary school .....), and then directly handwritten the new passport number in the original place, and then stamped it with the official seal of the DPRK. I was shocked and really flexible. .
I signed up seven days in advance, and I was lucky enough to be put on the last replacement list. Because the reception capacity of North Korea's tourism is limited, there is a limit on the number of tourists who enter the country every day. As mentioned earlier, North Korean personnel are responsible for reception, so they need to report to the DPRK in advance to arrange manpower, unlike traveling to other countries, they can go at any time if they want. It's the peak season for North Korea's tourism, so it's lucky to be able to report it seven days in advance. There are many individual groups on the flying pig, which are only responsible for sales. The specific ones may be some travel agencies in Dandong. When I arrive in Dandong, I will inform you of the gathering time and place and the phone number of the tour leader. Then I'm lucky to find that I'm in the group of Dandong International Travel Service again. When I first signed up, I wanted to sign up for a tour group of Dandong International Travel Service, because I checked this professional group online (which is true), but after asking, I found that there was no earlier schedule. I asked on July 31, and I replied that there was only one tour group on August 31 at the earliest, which was definitely not possible. So I went to the flying pig to ask, and there was actually a tour group on August 8, which was organized by individual travelers. I didn't know the operation mode of these travel agencies at the beginning. Dandong International Travel Service is a better travel agency to travel to North Korea. The direct connection is North Korea International Travel Service, but the registration must be made in advance. Now it seems to be one month in advance. Please recommend currency and shopping: North Korea's common currency is North Korea's currency, but it is a very unique existence. It is not in the international exchange rate system and only circulates in North Korea, so there is actually no international exchange rate to check. Because there are many border trade between China and North Korea, there are folk RMB and North Korea's currency. As mentioned earlier, North Korea's tourism is a fixed route. There are shops in all the scenic spots and dining spots on the route, and tourists don't need to exchange Korean currency. In these designated shops and shopping spots, they can directly use RMB for shopping. Just bring RMB, buy more and bring less. North Korea doesn't have ATM machines to withdraw money, and it seems that there is no currency exchange point and online payment is not supported. Therefore, it is necessary to bring enough RMB before going, so as not to find a peer. However, the prices of some other items are relatively high. For example, I bought a small notebook in North Tian Zige, which is written by primary school students in. One * * * is only 2 pages, and I spent 5 yuan RMB. It may be that the materials are relatively scarce, or it is expensive to sell to foreigners. It is more expensive to buy Korean ginseng and Niuhuang pills, ranging from thousands of expensive to hundreds of cheap ones. Every time you go to a scenic spot or dining place, the DPRK tour guide will give you 1 to 15 minutes to shop, which is completely voluntary and not compulsory. If you don't want to buy, you can go to the store and blow the air conditioner before coming out. If you don't buy, you can let the waiter take it out and have a look. If you don't buy at last, no one will give you a hard look. You can ask the DPRK tour guide to help you communicate with the language barrier. Everyone is very nice. When you arrive, you will get on the bus and won't always wander inside. Everyone travels for different purposes. Some people just come to buy things like ginseng and Niuhuang pills. Let's understand each other. Or sigh again, China's spending power is really strong, and the two uncles in the same group bought more than 3, things. And I'm miserable, including the ice cream, mineral water, drinks and yogurt I bought, and two packs of cigarettes I brought for my friends. One * * * costs 1 RMB ...
Communication and network: North Korea has no internet, so it was isolated from the world after the past, and the mobile phone became a camera. It is said that you can buy a paid traffic card, but the price is really, really expensive. The official charge in North Korea is about 1,4 yuan, including 5 meters of free traffic (after sending a few pictures, it will be gone ...), which exceeds 5 meters of free traffic and costs .28 US dollars /M, but most cities except Pyongyang have no signal coverage after opening. The hotel has a landline to make international calls to China, and the cost is about 17 yuan/minute. Time is counted from the moment you pick up the phone, not from the time you connect. There is a DU field opened by Macao people on the ground floor of Yangjiao Island. There is wifi here, but it is also paid. You must exchange chips, starting at $2, and you must go to the table to play before you can use wifi. However, I personally think that since I have come to North Korea, I should not go online, leave the internet and relax myself. In addition, you can receive the signal from South Korea near Panmunjom, and you can send a circle of friends on a net.
details of the specific itinerary: I started from Guangzhou, and because there is no direct flight to Dandong, I have to transfer from Dalian, first fly from Guangzhou to Dalian, then take the bullet train from Dalian to Dandong, and the same is true for the return journey, first take the bullet train from Dandong to Dalian, and then fly from Dalian to Guangzhou (I really struggled to go to North Korea). Fortunately, it is quite convenient for Dalian to travel to and from Dandong. It takes about two and a half hours by train, and there is no need to grab tickets. I can buy tickets two days in advance.
Meet at Dandong Railway Station at 8: 3 on the first morning. The tour guide will issue visas and entry cards to everyone, and the brand and color of the mobile phone will be written on the entry card, and the rest will be some general information. The visa, like Vietnam, is another piece of paper. No trace of the DPRK will be left on the passport when entering or leaving the country. It is said that some people are worried that they will be refused a visa after going to the United States with North Korea's entry and exit records. In fact, it is all a rumor, because it is really backward. There is no machine for security inspection, and it is all manual. I will talk about it later. The entry card is very strange. It was only taken away at Sinuiju Railway Station when I returned to leave North Korea. The visa paper was also recovered by the North Korean border defense before I returned to China, and it was no longer issued. I took this photo before I received it.
After you get your visa and entry card, check in, go through the customs border inspection and wait for the bus. Dandong Railway Station is small, and it is very convenient to be led by a tour leader all the way. The train leaves at 1: Beijing time. After boarding, you need to stand for 5 minutes, and then you have to get off at the Sinuiju Railway Station in North Korea. When you get off, a staff member from the DPRK will take away everyone's passport and visa at the door of the carriage.
after arriving in sinuiju, we will start to use Korean time. Beijing time is just +1 hour, and the departure time of the train is also based on Korean time, which is about 13:3 noon. Counting, the train will stop at sinuiju Railway Station for more than two hours, and during this period, tourists will have to undergo security check here. In the picture above, you can also see that there is no security inspection machine at all. It is purely manual security inspection. All the tourists sit in a row, put all the boxes and bags on the ground like me, open them, and accept a 36-degree inspection by the North Korean border guards. When the border guards see anything he is interested in, they will let you open it directly or show it to him. For example, the frontier defense began to see my portable washing suit and let me open it, and then I took a fancy to my Bluetooth headset. I guess I haven't seen this thing before? I asked all the buttons and holes on my earphone, what each button is for, and what each hole is for. Fortunately, he knows some Chinese, so I explained them to him one by one, and then asked me to demonstrate how to use them face to face. I picked up my mobile phone and connected it to Bluetooth, so I played a song "Goodbye Jack". He put on his earphone and listened for a while, asked me how much it cost, and then returned it to me. It was very cute. . In fact, the border guards checked whether there was a radio function, and I was really afraid that he would confiscate it for me. In addition, all electronic products, including mobile phones, cameras (lenses are required, it seems that they can't exceed 15mm, and I bring an 18-55 dog's head, so the staff registered the camera brand without looking at it), ipad, laptops, USB flash drives and hard disks, and staff members will register them one by one, and all items are recorded, but there is no such thing as going through our mobile phones and cameras in the legend. Our tour guide knows the man at the border, and he doesn't check strictly. It's better to ask the travel agency about what can and can't be taken before leaving, so as to save trouble. Although the tour guide told us before departure that there is no personal privacy in front of the security personnel in North Korea, I still think this way is quite something ... I don't know when to equip an X-ray machine ... I will wait for the train after checking and registration.
I will send my passport and visa back to myself before boarding, and I need to hand them in again when I arrive in North Korea.
As mentioned earlier, the fee for joining the tour covers all the food, accommodation and transportation of the four-day trip, so after boarding the bus, lunch boxes and a bottle of mineral water will be distributed, all of which are cold. The cold dishes from North Korea look good, but they are actually not delicious, which is not to my southerners' taste. Fortunately, I was resourceful and went to buy a pack of pickled mustard tuber the night before departure ...
The sleeping car in North Korea was given by China, so it is different from the sleeping car in China. The service mode of trolleys is also consistent with that in China, but I am a little surprised by the uniform of salespeople. It turns out that it is the configuration of high-speed trains in China. They only know some simple Chinese and can pronounce the Chinese names of each product, such as "beer" and "drinks". Renminbi can be purchased directly on the train, because there are both tourists from China and many Koreans on this train. I saw that the salesgirl in North Korea put all the Renminbi in a plastic bag. Every time a China person needs to change something, she has to open the plastic bag to find money. Everything she sells is Korean goods, and the price is on the high side.
The train speed in North Korea is really slow. The following is the result of my speed measurement with app. The picture on the left shows my speed measurement at 22 kilometers on the train, and the right.
