Bolivia's Uyuni salt marsh is known as the top ten most magical scenic spots in the world, so what is magical about this place called "the mirror of the sky"?

The above picture shows the "Mirror of the Sky" we shot in a salt lake in Qinghai. If this is a miniature "mirror of the sky", how beautiful is a world-class mirror of the sky? Where is it?

The most beautiful scenery in the world "the mirror of the sky" is in Bolivia, a small country in South America. "Mirror of the sky" is actually just a nickname and a realistic description of a unique landscape. Its real name is Uyuni Salt Marsh, which is essentially the same as Chaka Salt Lake in China.

Uyuni salt marsh is located in the south of Bolivia, South America, on the plateau at an altitude of 3656 meters. The salt marsh is150km long and130km wide, with a total area of1000km2, which is about 1/3 of that of Hainan Island. It is the largest salt-covered wasteland in the world, which is formed by the drying up of the ancient Minqin Lake.

Every winter (that is, the dry season, from July to 10), this is an ordinary salt source: the lake dries up, leaving a mineral hard shell mainly composed of salt, and the middle thickness can reach 10 meter. The total salt reserves here are about 65 billion tons, enough for people all over the world to eat for thousands of years.

At this time, the Uyuni Salt Marsh can't be called a "swamp", because there is no water, and the surface of the dry salt layer forms a regular pattern, which is quite shocking. But this is not the fundamental reason why it is famous.

The peak of Uyuni Salt Marsh only appears in summer every year, that is, the rainy season from 65438+February to 65438+1October in South America. The continuous injection of a large amount of rain finally turned it into a shallow lake. When there is no wind after the rain, the lake is motionless, copying the sky honestly like a mirror. Friends who have been to the plateau know that the sky there is blue, the clouds are big and white, and they look fake and changeable. Such a sky itself can easily surprise city residents, not to mention the reflection of the lake, which directly doubles the shock.

As a result, the "Mirror of the Sky" in Uyuni Salt Marsh was established and attracted tourists from all over the world to punch in.

Because of its wide area, extremely smooth (covered with shallow water), extremely flat (extremely small height difference) and extremely high surface reflectivity, uyuni at this time is also an ideal place to test and calibrate Earth remote sensing satellites.

Want to see the spectacular scene of the mirror of the sky, only from 65438+February every year to 65438+1October the following year. However, the dry season also has its unique charm. Although we can't copy our own photos, we can happily take all kinds of misplaced photos here.

We made a porcelain out of salt. Since it is a mirror of the waterless sky, I think it should be a mirror image, haha.

In the middle of the salt marsh, there is another place called Isla de Peskado. This island is named because it looks like a fish. The island is an important resting place on the way through the Uyuni salt marsh, which is generally not to be missed. The island is covered with huge cacti, the tallest of which is almost twice the height of an adult man! It is said that it has a history of thousands of years, and it feels very delicate.

It should be noted that there are only some local specialty shops on Fish Island, and there are no accommodation facilities. Littering is strictly prohibited.

This is where we rest at noon.

If you don't book a salt hotel, don't give up taking more commemorative photos in the restaurant made of salt blocks.

For safety reasons, almost all tourists in the Uyuni salt marsh must join the tour group (a remote place in the barren hills, once lost, it is almost a dead end). At noon, there is a small house with tables and chairs made of salt, but no food is provided. The guide will prepare delicious food for us.

Because Uyuni Salt Marsh is a natural salt field, local residents are experts in salt mining. Locals often build many small salt mounds about 1 m for sun exposure and drying, or chop cubes of tens of centimeters into 1 m with axes.

These crude salts are not only sent to nearby refineries for processing, but also used as building materials for houses. This is about to mention the world-famous local salt hotel.

Locals use the hard salt layer formed by the lake in the dry season to process it into thick "salt bricks" and then build "salt houses". Except the roof, doors and windows, the walls and indoor furnishings of the salt house, including beds, tables, chairs and other furniture, are all made of salt blocks (the picture shows the salt hotel where we stayed).

Sleeping at the Salt Hotel for one night is one of the most anticipated things when we go to uyuni.

It is a wish to finally move in. This photo shows the interior of our guest room. The room is very big. Everything in front of me is made of salt except quilts and other things.

Look at the details of the sofa, this is the real salt system!

The village woman didn't hold back for the first time and licked the wall. Bitter and astringent, almost spit it out. Curiosity will not only kill cats, but also spit on human beings. ...

However, if you think that the value of Uyuni Salt Marsh is really limited to salt, it is too simple.

Under the dazzling white salt flats in uyuni, there is a huge metal resource-lithium. Yes, it's metallic lithium for lithium batteries. The energy crisis makes countries desperately study electric vehicles, and the biggest obstacle is the shortage of lithium. According to the US Geological Survey, the lithium reserves under the Uyuni salt marsh are amazing, accounting for almost half of the global lithium reserves.

If all these lithium mineral resources are developed, Bolivia, a poor country in South America, can achieve a counterattack in an instant and be as rich as Saudi Arabia, a giant in the Middle East!

Therefore, the Uyuni salt marsh is not only a beautiful tourist destination.
