Barcelona Milla building

Anyone who has been to Barcelona knows Gaudi. Without Gaudi, Barcelona will lose its charming color.

Mira House, also the masterpiece of Spanish genius architect Gaudi, is located in gracia Street in the center of Barcelona, Spain. This is the last private residence designed by Gaudi, and it was also listed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 1984.

At that time, the owner of Mira House was Mr. Pere Milla, a rich man. At that time, Mr. Milla appreciated the Bartolo residence designed by Gaudi. In order to marry a rich widow, Roser Segimon, he asked Gaudi to design this apartment, which was completed between 1906 and 19 12.

My first impression of Mira House is like an alien building in a science fiction movie. The appearance is ups and downs, the stone carving exterior wall is like a rock eroded and weathered by seawater, and the balcony railing made of twisted iron bars and iron plates. Each balcony has its own style, and the peculiar ventilation tower on the roof can bring people a sense of mystery, as if some alien creature suddenly jumped out of the apartment.

The design feature of Mira House is that "the weight of its own building is completely borne by the columns, and neither the inner wall nor the outer wall bears the weight of the building itself, and the building itself has no load-bearing wall", so the interior can be rebuilt at will, the building will not collapse, and wider windows can be designed to ensure the lighting of each room.

In my opinion, the most exquisite and perfect design of Milla House lies in its attic. The attic in the whole design can be said to be significantly different from other parts, with a strange and dreamy chimney shape, some like armed soldiers, some like mythical monsters, and some like church bells. The long passage is like the spine of a snake. Walking on this winding path, it seems that you can follow Gaudi's footsteps, step into a fair visit, and find the perfect fit between people and architecture in the curve.

When we walk in it, there seems to be a faint unreality, like a building, like a house, but it seems to be a dream in a painting.

Perhaps words can't perfectly explain my feelings about this building, but when you can stand in the courtyard of Mira House and slowly appreciate the charm of this old house as still as water, you will find that even if you are out of the architectural concept, out of those routines and out of those red tape, this building can still bring people artistic sensory impact, which is Gaudi.
