The name of a tall building in Xiamen

Xiamen Maritime Pearl Meteorological Observation Tower

The weather radar tower has become another landmark building in Xiamen with its beautiful and unique shape. Many people suggest giving it a good name and making it another famous landscape of Ludao. The Municipal Civilization Office, the Municipal Meteorological Bureau and Xiamen Evening News jointly collected the name of the iron tower from the society.

It is a key project in Xiamen, which is not only used to monitor the changing situation, but also gives meteorological services, popular science education, tourism and night scene functions as a whole in planning and design.

It is the tallest building in Xiamen at present. The total altitude is195m, and the relative altitude is 80m. The main body is steel structure, wrapped by transparent glass curtain wall, and the facade is hyperbolic and extends outward, with beautiful shape. The white sphere at the top of the tower is a weather radar radome, which looks like a pearl from a distance. Due to the characteristics and light efficiency of the glass curtain wall, the tower presents different visual effects in different seasons, different weather and different time periods.

When night falls, the tower is decorated with night lights, and the patterns and colors of the light source array change accordingly.

The tower * * * has 19 floors, of which the highest two floors, 18 and 19, are sightseeing floors, which is an excellent position to have a bird's eye view of Xiamen.

The podium near the tower is the Youth Astronomical Meteorological Science Museum, which consists of planetarium, meteorological museum and astronomical projection museum. Planetarium and Meteorological Museum comprehensively introduce and display astronomical and meteorological scientific knowledge. The roof of the astronomical projection hall is hemispherical with an outer diameter of 23 meters, which can show dome movies.
