Can I plant flowers in the sun room?

The sun room can grow flowers.

If the construction of sunshine in winter is mainly for planting flowers and grass, it is required that the sun room is well ventilated and the sunshine is appropriate. External maintenance should choose plastic-steel window sun room, glass roof and large skylight. The price of this kind of sun room is low, but the indoor temperature is high in summer, so it needs to be equipped with sunshade.

Choose plants according to the direction:

First of all, you should know the orientation of your balcony, because the lighting varies greatly with the orientation. There is basically no sunshine on the north balcony in summer, but on the contrary on Nanyang terrace, there is only half-day sunshine on the east and west balconies. Therefore, we should choose the appropriate plant varieties according to the orientation. For example, the balcony faces south, and the illumination time is long, so you can raise some flowers and plants that like sunshine, such as Milan, Jasmine, Fusang, Rose and so on. If the balcony faces east or west, it is best to plant some vines, such as Lingxiao, Iman and Morning Glory. If the balcony faces north, you can plant some shade-tolerant or semi-shade-tolerant plants, such as asparagus, evergreen, tortoise-backed bamboo and so on.

Balcony space is generally limited, climbing or creeping plants are often planted, and parallel vertical greening or parallel horizontal greening is adopted. Generally, the west balcony is badly sunburned in summer, so it is more appropriate to adopt parallel and vertical greening. Plants form green curtains, which block the direct sunlight, play the role of heat insulation and cooling, and make the balcony form a cool and comfortable small environment. In the balcony with better orientation, parallel horizontal greening can be adopted. In order not to affect the functional needs of life, we should choose the appropriate composition form and plant materials according to the specific situation.

Flowers and plants unsuitable for growing at home:

First, flowers that will produce odor: conifers, jade cloves, elderberry, etc. Pine and cypress secrete lipid substances, giving off a strong smell of beech oil, which will lead to loss of appetite and nausea for a long time. The unique smell of cloves can make people gasp and get bored.

Second, oxygen-consuming flowers and plants: cloves, cordate telosma, etc. They will consume a lot of oxygen during photosynthesis, which will affect human health. Cordate telosma will emit a lot of waste gas when it stops photosynthesis at night, which will make people with high blood pressure and heart disease feel depressed.

The third is allergic flowers and plants: five-color plum, hydrangea, geranium and so on. Once people touch and stroke this kind of flowers and plants, it will cause skin allergies, and in severe cases, it will itch unbearable and a rash will appear.
