Yibin appellation in Jiaqing period

In the first year of Tang Tianbao (742), during the prosperous period of the Tang Dynasty, the ethnic minorities around Yibin were willing to obey the governance of the Tang government and changed their names to Yibin County, which meant "guests from Mu Yi" until the first years of Taiping and Xingguo in the Northern Song Dynasty.

In 976, Zhao Kuangyi, Song Taizong, was renamed Yibin County because of its taboo on the word "righteousness", taking the meaning of "righteousness is just and appropriate" in The Doctrine of the Mean. At this time, Yibin became the county name of the state for the first time, and "Yibin" was officially named!

Yibin has been built for more than 2000 years. As early as the Qin Dynasty, the first county-level administrative organization-Bodao County was established in Yibin today.

In the first year of Emperor Zhao of the Han Dynasty (86 BC), Qianwei was a county magistrate (west of Zunyi City, Guizhou Province) and moved to Bodao Town.

In the 10th year of Datong in Liang Wudi in the Southern Dynasties (544), after the Yi Rong was pacified, Rongzhou was established in Bodao City. Rongzhou was established for a long time until the late Tang Dynasty.

In the eighteenth year of Yuan Dynasty (128 1), Xuzhou was upgraded to Xuzhou Road, and Yibin County was still established.

In the sixth year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1373), Xuzhou Road was renamed as Xuzhou House, and Yibin County was still established.

In the second year of the Republic of China (19 13), the state capital was revoked, and Yibin County was placed under the jurisdiction of Xia Chuan South Road.
