I worked in a hotel and was fired for two years without a contract. I have been paid. Can I complain to the Labor Bureau?

You can apply to the local labor department for arbitration:

1. Failure to sign a labor contract: If a labor contract is not signed from the second month to the twelfth month from the date of employment, you can apply for double salary compensation, but the application time limit can only be used to sue for damages within one year.

Article 82 of the Labor Contract Law: If the employer fails to conclude a written labor contract with the employee for more than one month and less than one year from the date of employment, it shall pay the employee twice the monthly salary.

Article 27 of the Labor Dispute Arbitration Law applies for labor dispute arbitration for one year. The limitation period for arbitration shall be counted from the date when the parties know or should know that their rights have been infringed.

2. Illegal dismissal: you can apply for double economic compensation.

Article 87 of the Labor Contract Law If the employing unit dissolves or terminates the labor contract in violation of the provisions of this law, it shall pay compensation to the laborer at twice the economic compensation standard stipulated in Article 47 of this law.
