Wuhan Maritime College is a public comprehensive ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education and audited by the Ministry of Communications. The history of running a school can be traced back to the Yangtze River Shipping Technical School, which was founded in 1955, and later renamed as Changjiang Shipping Corporation Staff University, and renamed as its current name in 22.
