Can customs also apply for inheritance? What are the criteria for applying for World Heritage?
At present, China ranks first in the world in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, and there are 43 projects, among which China traditional tea-making skills and related xi customs are one. Tea culture has a long history in China. People in China have been planting, picking, making and drinking tea since ancient times.
With the extension of tea culture, many people have regarded drinking tea as a "necessary artifact" when chatting and talking about work, as if it would be interesting to chat while drinking tea. Tea culture in some places has even become a regional feature, such as "Kung Fu Tea" in Chaoshan, Guangdong. "Hakka broken tea" in Jieyang and Puning; Dai bamboo tea, Bulang pot tea, etc.
There are not only a large number of tea drinkers in China, but also people engaged in related work and tea production are in the forefront of the world, and the market is huge and stable. It is this series of factors that make this application successful.
Some partners may have questions. Can xi Customs also apply for inheritance? Obviously, this is possible, because "China traditional tea-making skills and related xi customs" has been successfully applied! However, it is not a simple matter to successfully apply for the World Heritage, and there are criteria to consider if you want to apply for the World Heritage.
The application conditions are as follows:
(1) Any cultural heritage project nominated for inclusion in the World Heritage List must meet one or more of the following criteria before it can be approved:
1 represents a unique artistic achievement and a creative masterpiece of genius;
2. It can have a significant impact on the development of architectural art, memorial art, town planning or landscape design in a certain period or in a certain cultural area of the world;
3. It can provide a unique or at least special witness for a disappearing civilization or cultural tradition;
4. It can be regarded as an outstanding example of a building, a group of buildings or a landscape, representing an important stage (or stages) in history;
5. It can be regarded as an outstanding example of a traditional place where human beings live or use, representing one (or several) cultures, especially under the influence of irreversible changes.
6. It is directly or substantively related to events with special universal significance, current traditions, ideas, beliefs or literary and artistic works.
Compared with the reporting standards, it is obvious that "China traditional tea-making techniques and related xi customs" are in line with Article 6, that is, "they have direct or substantial connection with events with special universal significance or current traditions or ideological beliefs or literary and artistic works". Tea drinking and related customs, as a tradition, were and are universal events.
In fact, there are many valuable traditional cultures or customs in our life, but some of them have disappeared in the current "feasting". Tea culture is extensive and profound, and has a large audience, so it finally survived in the "flowing" of the long river of history and became more and more "brilliant".
Here, I also hope that some things that are traditional and beautiful but not so perfect can also be allowed and treated well, such as the "fireworks" in the countryside during the New Year.
