Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport is located in Deng Gang Town, Rongcheng District, Jieyang City. The airport was officially opened on 2011215, and was named Jieyang Chaoshan Airport. On July 14, Jieyang Chaoshan Airport was officially renamed Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport.

First, say the name first. It is well understood that the airport is in Jieyang, and Chaoshan is far more famous overseas than Jieyang. Jieyang, Chaozhou and Shantou were once called Chaoshan areas. Second, say the location. Although the airport is in Jieyang, it is not far from the three places, about 20 kilometers to Jieyang and Chaozhou and 40 kilometers to Shantou. This is not far from many domestic airports to urban areas. And the airport bus is very convenient to the above three places.

There used to be an airport in Shantou-Waisha Airport, which is very close to Shantou city, but the runway of the airport is very short, so it is almost impossible to expand due to geographical influence. It is impossible for a grain of sand to meet the civil aviation demand in Chaoshan. In addition, the main function of Waisha Airport is for the use of the Air Force. So 1993, the provincial government and Chaoshan are actively planning the new airport. Deng Gang Town is almost the center of the three places, and the customs clearance conditions are relatively good. The key is that most of the surrounding areas are farmland, which is fully prepared for future expansion.

Fourth, significance, this is also the only airport in China with three crowns. It can be said that it is the result of overall consideration of regionalization and economic integration, and it is a useful attempt to build airports and high-speed rail between more other brother cities in the future.

Although Chaoshan Airport is located in Jieyang, it is clearly stated that the national investment in the construction of Chaoshan Airport serves Chaoshan area and even eastern Guangdong, so it is also named Chaoshan Airport. Shantou people's congress, the boundary of Jieyang, don't worry. The airport is not invested or managed by Jieyang City. Chaoshan Airport is invested and built by Civil Aviation Administration of China, Guangdong Provincial Government and Guangdong Airport Management Group Co., Ltd., which is an industry under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Guangdong Province. Chaoshan Airport serves the people of Chaoshan and even the whole eastern Guangdong.

The same is true of Chaoshan station of high-speed rail. High-speed rail is an industry owned by China Railway Corporation. High-speed railway station in Guangzhou is in Panyu, high-speed railway station in Huizhou is in Danshui, high-speed railway station in Xiamen is in Tong 'an, and high-speed railway station in Hangzhou is in Xiaoshan ... These high-speed railway station cities are more than 40 kilometers away from the city, and the high-speed rail Chaoshan station is in Shaxi, 30 kilometers away from Shantou.

Chaoshan International Airport is owned by Chaoshan three cities, belonging to Chaoshan three cities, not Jieyang. In order to brush the sense of existence, Jieyang simply put the word Jieyang in front of Chaoshan International Airport, in order to make people think that this airport belongs only to Jieyang! Initially, according to the official name, it was "Jieyang Deng Gang Airport" (prefecture-level city name+place name), and airports all over the country were named in this way. However, Shantou said that Shantou could not be reflected, but it was changed to the wonderful name of Jieyang Chaoshan Airport. Jieyang could not tell how bitter it was. Similarly, high-speed railway station in Chaozhou was also called "Shaxi Station" at first, and at worst it was called Chaozhou South Station. As a result, Shantou intervened, which is also known as the nondescript Chaoshan Station. Shantou is a great special zone! Chaozhou Jieyang brothers have no choice!

Chaoshan Airport was moved from Shantou Airport, which was originally an air force and civil aviation airport. After the reform and opening up, with the increase of flights and the need of national defense, the airport needs to be upgraded and expanded to serve the people of the three cities and the influx of the world population. Finally, it was located in Dinggang, Jieyang, the center of the three cities, and named Chaoshan International Airport. After the completion, Jieyang leaders were not confident, and erected a big stone at the intersection of the airport to write Jieyang Chaoshan Airport, which was opposed by experts from Chaoshan three cities and scholars at home and abroad. I think it's neither fish nor fowl. Chaoshan means Jieyang, which should not be ranked before Chaoshan. Jieyang leaders think that Jieyang is a big agricultural county, and the people all over the country who have just upgraded to Jieyang city don't know that there is such a place. We should make good use of the plane to publicize it, even if it is unorthodox.

Jieyang has always been a "sibling" in Chaoshan area, and Chaoshan is a brother, collectively known as Chaoshan.

The customs and habits of Jieyang people are more inclined to Hailufeng and Hakkas. For example, the traditional habit of Shantou people in Chaozhou is to drink rice porridge for three meals, while Jieyang people only drink porridge for breakfast. And in business, compared with chaozhou people and Shantou, Jieyang people are more like Shanwei people, more casual and generous, and less calculating. And Jieyang people are also very competitive. The economic vitality and some industrial scale of Liusha Town, the county seat of Puning County-level city alone, can be ranked in the forefront in the whole province, comparable to the Pearl River Delta region, far exceeding Chaoshan.

Therefore, it is not difficult for everyone to understand that in the comment area, people who belittle Jieyang should all be from chaozhou people and Shantou.

In fact, in the 1990s, it was said that an airport would be built in the center of the three cities, and the location was Swan Mountain, the battery. This position is measured by the distance from Chaoshan to Xiesan. The airport is naturally Chaoshan airport. Regarding the addition of the word Jieyang in front of it, I heard that the Jieyang government thought that the emplacement of the battery belonged to the Jieyang tube, so the word Jieyang was added in front of it, so that Jieyang also had many signboards outside. But Chaoshan disagreed.

Simply put, it covers an area of Jieyang, which should have been called Jieyang Airport. But at that time, it was considered as the geometric center of Chaozhou, Shantou and Jieyang. In addition, the provincial government also solicited opinions from overseas Chinese in Chaozhou, and named Chaoshan Airport as the opinion of the vast majority of overseas Chinese. And the name Chaoshan can best represent the public opinion, reality and history of Chaoshan area! So the weather, location and people all agree with the name Chaoshan Airport. As a provincial government that practices democratic centralism, there is no reason not to agree!

Because Jieyang people are broad-minded and generous, it is called Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport, otherwise it is called Jieyang Rongcheng International Airport.
