Common problems in hotel linen washing

First, the washing time is too long.

When the towel is washed in the washing machine, it keeps rolling up and down most of the time, resulting in rubbing action. This rubbing action is an important factor in washing towels, because dirty towels can't be washed off only by soaking in lotion. This rubbing movement not only plays the role of washing towels, but also wears fibers and reduces the fastness of towels. Therefore, controlling reasonable washing time can reduce unnecessary wear and thus ensure the normal washing life of towels.

Second, the dehydration speed is too fast.

Some automatic washing machines rotate too fast, the dehydration machine rotates too fast, and the centrifugal force is too large, which makes the towel cotton fiber loose. Just like when we twist the towel with our hands, the knitting structure is loose, which causes the middle part or the whole towel to be loose and damaged. Normal damage usually starts from the edge.

Third, the temperature is too high and the drying time is too long.

Some dryers cut off the air conditioning, which will cause towels to dry excessively. Because the wet strength of cotton fiber is higher than the dry strength, drying too dry will lead to the decrease of the fastness of towel. The control of air humidity in the spinning workshop of textile mill is very demanding. When the air is slightly dry, the yarn begins to break, and the spinning workers are busy dealing with the broken ends, which affects the normal production. If the towel is overheated, the fiber will become brittle and the fastness of the towel will decrease obviously.

Fourth, find the reason from the chemical aspect.

In the washing process, the water is not clear, and the formed chemicals remain in the fibers of the towel.

1, alkaline chemical residue

Although alkaline chemicals are safe for cotton fibers in the washing process, they will not damage the fibers of towels. But if the water is not clear, the alkaline detergent will remain in the fiber of the towel. Towels will turn gray and harden after drying, and the softness will decrease. As we all know, the actual use of towels is completely different from tablecloths and sheets. Desktop and sheets are used under static conditions, while towels are used under dynamic conditions. Frequent folding and winding require the towel to be soft, and any reason that causes the towel to become hard may reduce the fastness of the towel.

2. Residual chlorine bleach

Chlorine bleach is a strong washing chemical. Its bleaching function can remove most of the pigments distributed in the rinsing process, but it does some damage to cotton fibers. Under the condition of reasonable dosage and ideal humidity control, it is relatively normal. However, excessive dosing, improper temperature control, unclear water flow and chlorine residue are undoubtedly harmful to fabrics.

3. Improper pickling

Sometimes, in order to solve the problem that towels turn gray and yellow due to poor water quality, strong oxalic acid is often used for pickling to restore the whiteness of towels. But towels are fragile at this time, and cotton fibers are afraid of acid and alkali. The service life of towels may be significantly shortened if they are often pickled.

Neutralizing agent is the most important in the conventional washing process.

The chemicals put into the latter procedure can neutralize a small amount (no more than 10ppm) of alkaline chemicals and chlorine bleach, which remain in clothes after the previous washing procedure and water washing, and dissolve some metal ions in water. The correct dosage can adjust the PH value of cloth to 5.5-6.5, which is basically consistent with the PH value of human skin. It is safe and the fabric will still be in normal service life. However, improper use of a large number of neutralizers will make the fabric acidic, thus reducing the fastness of the fabric.

4. The towel itself.

The quality of towels is graded by the country, and different grades reflect different qualities. At present, the quality of towels on the market is mixed. There are many reasons for the quality problems of towels. For example, the raw material of towel production is cotton yarn, and the raw material of cotton yarn is cotton. If cotton is in chaos, the quality of cotton cannot be guaranteed. Some hotels' towels are of poor quality, and they are broken without washing several times.

5. Is the quality of the laundry liner qualified?

The washing machine liner is welded with stainless steel, and a small hole is punched in the apron. In the manufacturing process, the back of the hole needs to be deburred. However, if the quality of this process is not up to standard, and a large number of burrs or individual burrs are not treated, it will cause fabric hook damage. Another possibility is that there is a gap between the V-rib of the lining and the skirt. When the inner container is washed, it will be deformed due to heat expansion and cold contraction. Some small gaps in the lining are usually caused by the expansion after heating, and the fabric is involved in the washing or dewatering process. When the gap is uneven, when the fabric is clamped from the big gap, it will be squeezed and forced to pass through the small gap with the rotation of the gasket, which will easily tear the fabric.
