In the impression of most people, it seems that Jianghuai has frequently appeared in the eyes of ordinary people in recent years. In fact, the history of this enterprise can be traced back to 1950s and 1960s. As early as 1958, in order to build Chaohu sluice, Anhui Province established Chaohu sluice machinery repair shop, which was responsible for the maintenance and repair of sluice machinery. After the successful completion of the task of building Chaohu sluice, Wang Qingyuan, then the factory director, proposed to upgrade this garage to an auto parts factory, which not only changed its main business from mechanical maintenance to auto parts production, but also made the factory bigger and more practical.

Since then, Wang Qingyuan immediately reported to the superior, indicating their determination to upgrade Chaohu Gate Machinery Repair Factory to Auto Parts Factory. Unexpectedly, under the background of the central government's focus on the development of "FAW No.2 Automobile" at that time, the top management of Anhui Province supported the idea of Chaohu people to build cars, and soon granted the original warehouse of the Water Resources Department to Chaohu people as a factory building. After careful preparation and planning, Wang Qingyuan and his party came to Hefu from Chaohu with dreams, and came to this place where they took root and struggled.

Shortly after Wang Qingyuan and others came together, China Automobile Industry Company held the 1962 automobile product ordering meeting in Wuhan. This small company, which is just about to do auto parts business, also plans to join in the fun at the ordering meeting, and may find business opportunities at the exhibition. But at that time, the situation of this company was that there were no construction machinery for producing auto parts, no professional engineers, and only a few skilled workers who knew mechanical maintenance. In today's words, Chaohu machinery repair shop is simply "empty gloves and white wolves".

Not only are there no workers and no technology, but the new company doesn't even have an official name, let alone an official seal. Without the name and official seal, it is impossible for enterprises to place orders for them. In a crisis, two technicians from the repair shop temporarily negotiated the company name of Chaohu Auto Parts Factory, carved a "radish stamp" at will and rushed to the order meeting site. To everyone's surprise, this unintentional move by Chaohu Machine Repair Factory actually won the order contracts for dozens of small products such as clutches and braking systems, which made Chaohu people both surprised and uneasy.

Surprisingly, Chaohu people find that the domestic demand for auto parts is so huge, and the business opportunities contained in it are naturally self-evident. What is disturbing is that Chaohu people did not have the equipment and technology at that time, and even the official seal when signing the contract was temporarily engraved. Can they successfully complete these dozens of orders? At this time, there is only one way in front of Chaohu people, that is, to build a factory in a short time and successfully complete this batch of orders in any case.

In order to make the company have a formal "identity", the leading group headed by Wang Qingyuan reported to the Provincial Planning Commission for many times, demanding that the original Chaohu machinery repair shop be officially renamed Chaohu auto parts factory. A few days later, the report was approved, but the name of the approved company was "Chaohu Auto Repair Factory", which still did not match the name and official seal on the previous contract. To this end, Chaohu people kept reporting and writing applications to their superiors, and finally obtained their official status at 1964, and Chaohu Auto Parts Factory was formally established, which was the predecessor of Jianghuai Automobile.

After the company was established, its main business was to produce auto parts needed by major manufacturers, which made Chaohu people gradually familiar with China Automobile Company. Also in 1964, Chaohu people found an opportunity in China Automobile Company. At that time, due to the continuous expansion of single product manufacturing batches in Nanjing Automobile Factory, they wanted to transfer the business of 1t off-road vehicles and some automobile engines to the outside world. China Automobile Company soon thought of Chaohu Auto Parts Factory, which is producing auto parts. With the help of China Automobile Corporation, Nanqi quickly reached a cooperation intention with Chaohu people and decided to transfer the 1t off-road vehicle and engine project for free.

With the project, the initial start-up capital, production equipment and related skilled workers are still urgent problems for Chaohu people. Chaohu auto parts factory, which was just established at that time, was extremely short of funds. If you want to seize this opportunity to continue to develop, Chaohu people must solve the problem of funds. Subsequently, the Chaohu municipal government sold several small and medium-sized enterprises originally affiliated to the public security department system, and started the construction of new factories with self-raised funds. In addition, they also "turn to" relevant enterprises all over the country, hoping that they can provide some equipment needed to produce complete vehicles and spare parts. After the news of asking for help was sent out, it was unexpectedly supported by many machinery manufacturing enterprises across the country. Many companies are even willing to pay for it and provide it to Chaohu Lake for free.

As for the technicians who produce cars, Chaohu people also eat "hundreds of meals". In addition to transferring the whole production line to Anhui for free, Nanqi also appointed an expert group of engineers to Anhui to help Chaohu people build cars. In addition, Chaohu people turned to FAW for help with the help of the provincial party committee and government, and successfully got a team of nearly 20 automobile engineers. Chaohu people who have been helped by all parties are also trying their best to tap talents and enrich and expand the company's technical team. They made a thorough investigation of the 200,000 prisoners in the public security system, selected 1200 prisoners with relevant experience and minor cases, and transferred them to factories to work. Those who behave well can also apply for commutation. Some of these prisoners are engaged in design, some are skilled, and some are very proficient in manufacturing. Chaohu Auto Parts Factory organized them to form a powerful car-making force and successfully completed the production of all parts at the order meeting.

Soon, Chaohu Auto Parts Factory has the ability to manufacture complete vehicles independently, and is listed as a military enterprise by the state, mainly providing logistics support for the army in terms of vehicles. Although the capacity problem has been solved, Anhui Chaohu Automobile Maintenance Factory no longer produces any 1 ton off-road vehicles, and their main job is to produce auto parts.

Every time I write the history of my own brand, I can't avoid the influence of 10 Cultural Revolution, and so does Jianghuai. As the director Wang Qingyuan was criticized and demoted during the Cultural Revolution, Anhui Chaohu Auto Parts Factory was once in chaos. However, Chaohu people, who were bent on building cars, quickly stabilized the situation and decided to produce a 2.5-ton flat-headed truck based on the "Yuejin Truck" of Nanqi, namely Gas5 1.

1April 1968, the first 2.5-ton truck was born, with patchwork equipment, technicians and workers supported by all parties. Although this car made entirely by workers has many defects and loopholes, Anhui people reported the good news to China Automobile Corporation with confidence. The relevant leaders of China Automobile Corporation were very happy after learning about it, and asked them to bring it to Beijing as soon as possible for the central leaders to visit and judge. In addition, Anhui has formally put forward a plan to start the automobile project to the central government, hoping to take this opportunity to get the approval of the central government.

The results of the investigation in Beijing can be imagined. This truck was highly praised by the Minister of Agriculture of the State Council. While encouraging Chaohu people to continue to produce automobiles, they also expressed their strong support for the automobile project in Ma Shang, Anhui. In this way, Anhui Chaohu Automobile Factory officially embarked on the road of vehicle manufacturing. After officially confirming the vehicle manufacturing business, it is imperative to produce cars and submit them to the ninth Party Congress. In that case at that time, this task undoubtedly fell on Chaohu Automobile Factory, which just had the capacity of vehicle production. For a long time, "building a car as a gift for the nine major" has become a great driving force for the employees of the whole factory to produce cars. With full enthusiasm and the spirit of hard struggle, Chaohu people produced 20 cars before the 9th National Congress of 1969, and successfully completed the task.

After the first batch of cars were produced, the factory leadership decided to name these cars "Jianghuai Brand" and proposed to rename Chaohu Automobile Factory "Jianghuai Automobile Factory". The factory reported these two naming schemes to the army leaders at that time, and got a reply soon. The army fully agreed with the report of the factory, and soon approved that the car was named "Jianghuai Brand" and the factory was renamed "Jianghuai Automobile Factory". At this point, Chaohu people have realized their dream of building a car, but the road to building a car is not smooth sailing.

1970- 1996

Jianghuai Automobile Factory, a commercial vehicle manufacturing enterprise in transition, ushered in new changes.

In fact, while Jianghuai Automobile Factory produced cars as nine gifts, the whole country has already experienced the Cultural Revolution. Although Jianghuai Automobile Factory belongs to the army, it is inevitable that the technicians in the factory will be knocked down and demoted. Hefei Jianghuai Automobile Factory "carefully" spent this period. 1977 After the Cultural Revolution, Jianghuai Automobile Factory was separated from the background of military enterprises through a new round of integration and was placed under the jurisdiction of the Machinery Bureau.

Since then, Jianghuai Automobile Factory has been producing auto parts and some commercial models under the leadership of the Provincial Machinery Bureau, and has hardly set foot in the field of passenger cars. It is precisely because of this that Jianghuai has long been in the stage of "only working and not being famous", and the word "Jianghuai" can only appear in some military and engineering vehicles. Because the information left by Jianghuai Automobile Factory during this period is really too little, the focus of this article will start from the late 1980s.

At the end of 1980s, the spring breeze of reform and opening-up blew into all walks of life, and China's automobile industry also developed rapidly during this period, and the field of passenger cars quickly formed a fierce competition. At this time, Jianghuai Automobile Factory is not familiar with the passenger car business, and it is not easy to develop into this market. After careful research, Jianghuai Automobile Factory decided to transform its enterprise for the first time, focusing on the production of passenger car chassis and truck chassis.

Through the cooperation with well-known foreign manufacturers in capital and technology, JAC creatively developed the 1990 special chassis for passenger cars, which ended the long history that passenger cars in China could only be modified from truck chassis, and also made JAC gain a firm foothold in the field of passenger car chassis. In May of the same year, 36 light trucks and 24 buses with Jianghuai chassis were exported to Bolivia, and the bus chassis with HFC6700 was also included in the national key new product plan project 1990. Since then, Jianghuai Automobile Factory has cooperated with Tianjin "China Automobile Technology Center" to continue to develop new bus chassis.

Two years later, JAC developed the first rear engine chassis HFC6702KY in China. At that time, HFC6702KY, HFC660 1KY, HFC6782 and other special chassis for passenger cars produced by Jianghuai almost represented the highest level of 6-8m passenger car chassis in China, and these three chassis basically monopolized the domestic medium-sized passenger car market at that time. With the increasing demand of people's travel, public transport vehicles have been overloaded and driven at low speed for a long time. Frequent starting and acceleration require the bus to have more torque and more abundant power output in a lower speed range, which also puts forward higher requirements for the bus chassis.

1In April 1994, Jianghuai Automobile Factory upgraded and developed HFC6703KAY chassis, HFC6605 series chassis and HFC6750KAY chassis on the basis of HFC6700 series bus chassis, and became a well-deserved leading enterprise in the domestic bus market at that time. 1995 topped the domestic bus chassis sales champion, 1996 the annual bus chassis sales exceeded 10000 mark.

With the continuous maturity of bus business, Jianghuai Automobile Factory took over Hefei Bus Factory in 1996 and 12, and started the first cooperation with Hyundai Group in the field of passenger cars and trucks in the same year. At that time, Jianghuai and Hyundai reached a technical cooperation agreement on bus chassis, and China transformation was carried out while absorbing advanced overseas experience and technology. In the middle and late 1990s, Jianghuai really became a leader in the domestic bus field.

While making continuous efforts in the field of bus chassis, JAC has also continuously promoted its own development in the field of light trucks. Also in 1996, the smart bell of Jianghuai light truck with the code name HFC 106 1 went on the market, and the price was about130,000 yuan. As the core business of JAC, light truck * * * includes three product lines to meet the needs of high, medium and low-end consumer markets respectively. The high-end series models are Shuailing 1-3, the mid-end models are Kang Ling, Ling Jun and Ling Wei, and the low-end models are good, good and lucky.

1997-2006

Commercial/passenger cars go hand in hand, and Jianghuai walks out of the road of characteristic development.

After decades of experience in the automobile industry, Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd. was formally established in May 1997 and was identified as one of the key enterprise groups in Anhui Province 12. The Group has six enterprises, including Hefei Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd., Hefei Bus Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Hefei Automobile Factory and Anhui Automobile Gearbox General Factory.

In order to seek greater development in the new era, 1997 Jianghuai, which has just established a group company, is planning a larger enterprise restructuring and reorganization plan. 1On September 30, 1999, the restructuring plan initiated by five shareholders, namely Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Co., Ltd., Singapore Golden Lion Asia Pacific Co., Ltd., Anhui Science and Technology Industry Investment Co., Ltd., Anhui Machinery Equipment Corporation and Wuhan Tianyu Information Industry Co., Ltd., was implemented. Jianghuai Automobile Factory was officially transformed into Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd., and in March 2000, it merged with Anhui Wandong Machinery Factory to form Anhui Jianghuai Special Purpose Vehicle Co., Ltd.
