Can I stay in the hotel with my driver's license?

Legal analysis: no, the driver's license can't be used as an identity document for accommodation registration. The identity documents stipulated by the court generally refer to the household registration book, identity card, temporary id card, passport, seaman's card, China people's pass to and from Hong Kong and Macao, and the pass to and from Xiangdao Port and Macao Special Administrative Region on business; Military officer's card, police officer's card, civilian cadre's card, soldier's card and student's card issued by China People's Liberation Army and China People's Armed Forces; Hong Kong and Macao residents travel to and from the Mainland; Special passes for residents of Taiwan Province Province to and from the mainland, travel permits of the People's Republic of China, etc.

Legal basis: Article 6 of the Measures for the Administration of Public Security in Hotel Industry stipulates that hotels must register when they receive passengers. At the time of registration, the passenger's identity documents shall be checked and truthfully registered according to the prescribed items. To receive accommodation from overseas tourists, an accommodation registration form shall also be submitted to the local public security organ within 24 hours.
