Snowy Tibet explores overland into neighboring Nepal
After leaving the Chinese border inspection port, we crossed the Resuo Bridge and entered Nepal. This is the national gate of Nepal. The border inspection stations in Nepal have simple rooms and are very simple, and the roads are also very muddy, which symbolizes this. The trip is destined to be a difficult journey.
When entering Nepal, the Zhangmu Port was closed due to the earthquake. Now the Gyirong Port is open. The road on the Nepalese side is not paved. There are shell craters and stones everywhere. At the Nepalese border, bargain with the jeep driver and prepare. Head to Kathmandu, the first stop in Nepal.
After entering the customs, we walked less than a few kilometers before we all got off the bus and were inspected at the Nepal Immigration Bureau. On the way to Kathmandu, we had to pass through seven or eight checkpoints. Some were simple to check passports and some were mandatory. You have to open the package and check it one by one, and many checkpoints are also very time-consuming.
On the way to Kathmandu after entering Nepal, we passed seven or eight checkpoints. It was already afternoon. We were all very hungry. The driver took us to a roadside restaurant to stop for dinner. This was the first meal we had when entering Nepal and also the first time we entered Nepal. The most expensive simple meal, the reason is self-explanatory. After just two bites of rice, I went to the convenience store behind the restaurant out of curiosity.
The first Nepali meal I ate in Nepal on the way was expensive and tasted average. As you can imagine, the driver had a plan to eat for free. There was no way he was entering Nepal. The most expensive simple meal is free when you reach the destination.
When we set out yesterday from Jilong Town to the border inspection port, we had to take a local car for 20 kilometers to the port. Unexpectedly, the car was illegally operated and was detained at the checkpoint. It was delayed for an hour before we arrived. It’s almost noon at the border checkpoint, so hurry up and get through before you get off work! Due to various reasons, it was already dark when we arrived in Canada. After asking for directions, we finally arrived in Thamel. I had no time to take care of the people and things around me. The only thing left was to quickly find a hotel. After all the hard work, I found a place to stay and the conditions were much worse, but I could only make do with it in the middle of the night. It would be easier to wait until dawn, so I could sleep without talking all night!
Tamil is still very lively in the middle of the night. Various bars and discotheques are bustling with joy. The streets in Thamel district are very narrow but extremely lively. Most of the shops on both sides of the street are still open. Jewelry, jade, These pine and stone products seem to be sold exclusively to the Chinese.
Kadu Bus Station
The road from Jilong Port to Kadu is less than 200 kilometers due to poor road conditions. I went to many checkpoints for inspections. It was already after dark when I arrived in Canada at noon. I hurriedly found a place to rest and went straight to the bus station early the next morning to go to Pokhara, the place I wanted to visit most during this trip
< p> Pokhara is the second largest city in Nepal and a city very popular among tourists and hiking enthusiasts. The famous Phewa Lake quietly leans against the majestic Fish Tail Peak, which is the sacred mountain in Nepal and is equivalent to Mount Everest. Feng has the same status in the hearts of Chinese people. Whenever the hotel by the lake opens its doors to welcome guests in the evening, guitars suddenly sound, birds and songs compete with each other in the sky, and a canoe floats gently into the distance on the calm lake...Here we are The temperature in Pokhara immediately became comfortable. Yesterday I wore a down jacket at the port, but when it was over 20 degrees in Pokhara, I could just wear short-sleeves. It was really comfortable.
Pokhara all the way to the west...
After a long and dusty day, we arrived in Pokhara just before dark, found a hotel, put down our luggage and went out to eat.
The distance from Kadu to Pokhara is not that far, but the road condition is not good. It takes another day to get to Pokhara by car from the morning. We stopped to eat on the way because of the lack of people and horses. Seeing that the health condition is not very good, we stopped. How to eat? When we came out of the hotel, we all discussed how to treat ourselves well in the evening. We went into a good-looking western restaurant, ordered the meal and drank a bottle of red wine to relieve the fatigue of the day.
Pokhara is the second largest city in Nepal and a very popular city for tourists and hiking enthusiasts. The famous Phewa Lake quietly leans against the majestic fish tail. Peak and Fishtail Peak are Nepal’s sacred mountains, equivalent to the status of Mount Everest in the minds of Chinese people.
In the last century, a pair of European and American young people traveled across Europe singing songs and came to the shore of Lake Phewa, where their footsteps stopped. The hotel on the edge of Phewa Lake opened its doors to welcome guests, and suddenly the sound of guitars sounded, and the birds and songs in the sky competed with each other to come to Nepal to find their spiritual home. Their hurried steps stopped when they came to Pokhara, part of what became known as the "hippie" movement.
Pokhara is considered by them to be the "edge" of the world. Why do the "hippies" who resist the secular world and pursue spiritual freedom set up camp in Pokhara? What do they find here?
When they set up tents and lit bonfires by Phewa Lake, when the snow-capped mountains were reflected in the water, and when the eagle flew across the sky, perhaps all the questions were answered at this moment. Nowadays, the "hippies" have long become a relic of history, and Pokhara today is still quiet and peaceful.
I had a dream last night. I woke up in the morning and crossed this road again. I could hear the wind whispering to me. Never end peace and love. Let my heart join us. Will sing.
