Generally, you cannot use your driver’s license to stay in a hotel. According to the law, travelers must present valid personal documents to stay in hotels. In addition to resident ID cards, valid documents for accommodation include household registration booklet, military officer ID card, soldier ID card, armed police officer ID card, passport, temporary resident ID card, and household registration certificate with photo. , but does not include a driver's license. Domestic travelers who do not hold a valid ID and need accommodation can go to the police station where the hotel is located to issue an identity certificate and check in with the identity certificate. If overseas personnel lose their valid identity documents, they can register for accommodation with a certificate of loss issued by the exit-entry administration department of the public security organ.

When a passenger loses his or her valid ID and is unable to check in at the hotel, he or she can go to the police station in the jurisdiction of the hotel where he or she is staying to verify his or her identity and issue relevant identity certificates, so that he or she can return to the hotel to check in. A driver's license is a license that motor vehicle drivers need to apply for in accordance with the law. A driver's license is a license certificate. It is not a valid identification document and therefore cannot be used as proof of identity to register at the hotel.
