If you are quarantined, who will pay the bill?

(1) After a person is diagnosed, his close contacts shall be isolated. The reason for the isolation has nothing to do with the close contact, so the isolation fee should not be paid by him, but by the government.

(2) If a person returns from an epidemic area (or foreigners come to China), his isolation has nothing to do with the city he went to, so he has to bear the expenses himself.

(3) If someone is isolated on business (such as the above-mentioned Vulcan Mountain aid builder or business trip), the isolation expenses incurred have nothing to do with the isolated city and the isolated person, and should be borne by the company that caused the isolation.

14-day isolation costs are generally between 4000 and 7000 yuan.

The expenses during the isolation period mainly include transportation, accommodation, meals and nucleic acid detection fees. Generally speaking, the meal fee for one day is around 50- 150 yuan, and the accommodation is between 100-400 yuan. If the quarantine lasts for 14 days, the whole cost will be 4000-7000 yuan.

Of course, the isolation fee is different in different places. This isolation fee is set by the isolation hotel and the government. The higher the price in big cities, the higher the isolation cost, and the lower the price in small cities, the less the isolation cost.

There are three main solutions to compulsory isolation 14 days without payment:

1. Apply for subsidies from government communities. Some local governments have certain subsidies for the isolation of poor people. As long as the parties can produce relevant evidence, they can get certain subsidies.

2. Negotiate repayment in installments with the isolated hotel. If the parties can't afford the isolation fee at one time, they can negotiate with the hotel to repay it in installments. Never refuse to pay the fee, which will lead to bad personal credit and limit high consumption.

3. Purchase epidemic isolation insurance in advance. If the parties are afraid of not having the money to pay the isolation fee, they can buy an epidemic isolation insurance in advance, so that even if they are really isolated, they can get the isolation allowance around 200 yuan one day, which can basically offset the isolation fee.

Legal basis:

Article 41 of the Law on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases in People's Republic of China (PRC) stipulates that during the period of isolation, the people's government that implements isolation measures shall provide living security for the isolated people, so the medical expenses of each person during the period of compulsory isolation shall be borne by the state government.

At present, most local governments have adopted the practice of "accounting treatment, hospital advance payment and financial (social security, unit) settlement" in their implementation. However, due to the delay in the settlement of a number of advance expenses, the hospital assumed the rescue responsibility that should have been borne by the government.

In addition, the government requires that patients who are still unable to bear the cost of treatment after enjoying the relevant treatment should share part of the cost by their units, so individuals do not have to worry about the cost and rest assured of treatment.

Then who pays for the isolation of normal people? In short, if everyone is a close or sub-close contact of the infected person, the isolation fee is generally paid by the government. In other cases, the fee may need to be paid by itself.
