Ocean Lu took over the old newspaper.

Encouraged by the news of the founding of New China, the PLA soldiers divided into three roads and headed for Guangzhou. The army that entered Guangdong made rapid progress, and in June 10, Guangzhou was liberated. Yang Lu, a staff member of Guangzhou Martial Law Commission, and Li Fanfu, who is also the director of the Cultural and Educational Takeover Committee of Guangzhou Martial Law Commission, went south with the field army, passed through Gannan, crossed Wuling, entered northern Guangdong, and arrived in Longxianxu, wengyuan county. On the night we arrived at Longxianxu, we heard the good news that Guangzhou had been liberated from the telegram. The next day, we drove to Guangzhou. Because the roads and bridges on the road were damaged by the Kuomintang army, engineers repaired them all the way, so we were delayed and arrived in Guangzhou at dusk on June 65438+1October 65438+June 6. We entered the city from Shahe until we reached the Xinya Hotel on Taiping South Road (now Renmin South Road) and stayed temporarily.

101October 2 1 day, the Guangzhou Arms Control Committee of the China People's Liberation Army was formally established. The Military Management Committee consists of eight committees and four departments (branches) on military affairs, finance, culture and education, transportation, materials, telecommunications, public security, justice, health, supply, housing distribution and foreign affairs, which are respectively responsible for taking over the party, government and military organs (including the central organs moved by the Kuomintang from Nanjing) and organs and enterprises. Our takeover of Guangzhou began and lasted until the end of 65438+February.

Li Fanfu and Rao Zhangfeng are respectively the director and deputy director of the Cultural and Educational Takeover Committee of Guangzhou Military Management Committee. Luyang's Press and Publication Administration is affiliated to the Cultural and Educational Takeover Committee, with Rao Zhangfeng as the director and Wang Kuang as the deputy director. The Press and Publication Administration sent several martial arts teams headed by Luo, which were composed of Xiang Ming, Ji Xingbo, Yan Peitao, zhangyan, Yang Jia and (the names of several others have now been forgotten), and went to the old newspapers in Guangzhou to take over the work.

The Kuomintang newspapers published in Guangzhou on the eve of liberation and newspapers related to the Kuomintang can be divided into five parts: one is the Kuomintang party newspaper, the other is the organ newspaper of the Guangdong provincial government of the Kuomintang, the third is the newspaper of the political work system of the Kuomintang army, the fourth is the semi-official newspaper run by the Kuomintang bureaucratic politicians, and the fifth is the newspaper named Commercial Office actually controlled by the Kuomintang politicians. There are more than 20 newspapers. Among them, Central Daily, Zhongzheng Daily, Southwest Daily, Jianguo Daily, Daguang Daily, Global Daily, Yuehua Daily, Guohua Daily and Phenomenon Daily. The total circulation is no more than 80,000 copies, of which Yuehua Daily, which has the largest circulation, has a circulation of less than 65,438+

1October 22nd 10, Yang Lu and other comrades, accompanied by several armed PLA soldiers, began to take over the old newspapers such as Southwest Daily, Daguang Daily and Jianguo Daily located in Guangfu Middle Road. As soon as we arrived at the door of the newspaper office, we posted the notice of "Chapter Eight of Martial Law" on the wall at the door. After we went in, we called a meeting of all the staff of the newspaper office, and announced that the publication and distribution of the newspaper office would be stopped from now on. The martial law team would take over all the houses, machines, equipment, documents, files, property and personnel of the newspaper office, and asked all the staff of the newspaper office to assist in taking over the work smoothly, effectively protecting all the information and files of the newspaper office from loss. In the process of reception, we conscientiously implement the party's reception policy. When we take over old newspapers, we strictly distinguish whether the backstage bosses of some newspapers are bureaucratic bourgeoisie or national bourgeoisie, so as to decide whether to confiscate their newspaper assets. For example, when the Military Management Team took over the newspaper, it immediately investigated the source of its assets and kept its shares in commercial assets, but did not announce the total confiscation.

Before we took over, all the newspapers continued to be published except the Central Daily, which was closed in Guangzhou. At that time, the equipment of the old newspaper was taken over, except for some houses and printing presses, and other equipment was pitiful, especially the library was almost empty. Although the equipment of Southwest Daily is relatively old and inferior, when taking over, these equipment should be counted and saved first to avoid loss. Soon after we took over, the Military Management Committee ordered us to hand over the newspaper printers and printing presses to Liang Mu, a representative sent by the Beijiang prefectural party committee, who led them to move to Shaoguan to print the newly established Beijiang Daily. The printing machinery and equipment of Central Daily was handed over to Nanfang Daily, the organ newspaper of South China Branch, which was founded on1October 23rd. The printing equipment of many other newspapers that were taken over, such as Daguang Daily and Jianguo Daily, were handed over to the newly established Southern People's Printing Factory and Xinhua Printing Factory, and the printers of these newspapers became employees of the new printing factory. Later, the printing houses of newspapers such as Yuehua Daily also became the printing houses of the United Front newspaper United Daily News, which was co-founded by various democratic parties in Guangzhou and led by China. We explained our purpose and policy to the printing factory, and arranged to resume production immediately after collecting machinery and equipment one by one, thus giving full play to the manpower and material resources of the printing factory in time.
