What's the story of Sidu Chishui?
1. Background: The Central Red Army failed in its fifth counter-campaign against "encirclement and suppression" and was forced to withdraw from the central revolutionary base in June 1934+00, and began a large-scale strategic shift. The number of troops dropped sharply from 86,000 at the time of departure to more than 30,000. The camp is full of wounded soldiers, lack of ammunition and materials, and it is in urgent need of replenishment. Chiang Kai-shek hit the Red Army hard on the Xiangjiang River, and his morale was high. He mobilized 400,000 troops to contain it, 300,000 to 400,000! The strength of the two sides is very different. Sidu Chishui started under this background.
2. Purpose: To jump out of the encirclement of the 400,000-strong Kuomintang army, preserve the effective strength and fight the remaining Red Army.
3. Crossing the river for the first time: The Red Army troops got rid of the confrontation with the enemy, divided into three roads: left, middle and right, and crossed the Chishui River from Houyuan Town and Tucheng Town to the west. This is the first crossing of Chishui River.
4. Second crossing: Most of the main enemy forces were attracted to the Sichuan-Yunnan border by the Red Army, and the troops in northern Guizhou were empty. The Red Army decided to return to Guizhou unexpectedly. The Red Army 1 regiment crossed Erlang Beach for the first time, and successfully covered the troops crossing Chishui River for the second time in Taipingdu and Erlang Beach from February to February 20, 65438.
5. Third crossing: On March 1935, the Red Army attracted all the Kuomintang troops to northern Guizhou. Mao Zedong and Zhu De ordered the Central Red Army to take the initiative to quit fighting and go to Maotai Town to command the Central Red Army to cross the Chishui River for the second time.
6. Fourth crossing:1935 On March 20 ~22, the Central Red Army entered southern Sichuan and once again assumed the posture of crossing the Yangtze River in the north. Chiang Kai-shek once again focused his main force and attention on southern Sichuan. Mao Zedong ordered the Central Red Army to secretly and quickly cross the Chishui River for the fourth time from Taipingdu, Erlangtan and Jiuxikou.
