Donghua University-Raffles International Design Institute was established in September 1994. It is the first batch of Chinese-foreign cooperatively-run schools approved by the state in Shanghai, and it is also a secondary college under Donghua University.

Donghua University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and a national key construction institution of "2 1 1 Project". Three-year undergraduate course. A year is divided into four semesters (according to the method of foreign semesters).
