The former site of the General Command and Political Department of the Eastern Expedition Army of the National Revolutionary Army is located at No.27 Waima Road, Shantou City. It is a two-story building with reinforced concrete integral beam, slab, column, brick and wood mixed structure, which is divided into the east building and the west building. The two floors are 4 meters apart and have the same form, with an area of 355 square meters on each floor and a total construction area of 1,42 square meters. Originally a British-run hotel, it was called "Suitable Building", and later changed to "Gobo Embroidery Shop". It has a history of nearly a hundred years, and the east and west floors of the old site still maintain their original features. On November 4, 1925, the Eastern Expedition Army of the National Revolutionary Army entered Shantou for the second time. The General Command and Political Department of the Eastern Expedition Army were located on the east and west floors, and the commander-in-chief Chiang Kai-shek and the Soviet military adviser General Galen worked in the west building. Zhou Enlai, the general director of the Political Department, stays and works in the southeast corner on the second floor of the East Building, and often meets workers, farmers, women, youth representatives and people from all walks of life here. He also personally wrote the word "revolution" for the supplement of Lingdong Republic Daily. In May, 1996, the "Exhibition Hall of the Revolutionary Historical Sites of the Dongzheng Army in Shantou City" was established, becoming the first revolutionary history museum in Shantou. In July, 1997, the Exhibition of the History of the Eastern Expedition, which was founded in the East Building, was officially opened to the public. Last year, our library completely renovated the exhibition layout, re-arranged the exhibition, organized a number of new exhibits, added an equipment room, restored the room dedicated to Comrade Zhou Enlai, and opened it to the public.

As a patriotic education base, our library makes full use of its functions and connotations. The Exhibition of the History of the Eastern Expedition, which is a combination of memorial and education, is a teaching material with physical documents and pictures. Through vivid battle scenes, visitors can review history, cherish the memory of martyrs, inherit the legacy of martyrs, and inspire patriotic enthusiasm, so as to achieve the purpose of patriotic education.

Shantou dongzhengjun revolutionary historical relics exhibition hall, located at No.27, Waima Road, Shantou City, is directly affiliated to Shantou Culture, Radio, Film and Television Press and Publication Bureau. When you enter the downtown area of Shantou, you can take bus No.1, No.1, No.33, No.36 and No.37 and get off at Shantou Dongzhengjun Revolutionary Historical Relics Exhibition Hall Station. Our library is now open to the public free of charge for 6 days every week from Monday to Saturday. The opening hours are 9: am to 11: 3 am and 3: pm to 5: 3 pm, with a daily reception capacity of about 3 people.
