At the foot of Taihe Mountain in Ganquan Township, Ganquan County. Meishui Spring was originally named Ganquan, and the county was named after it. Taihe Mountain was called Yangu Mountain in ancient times, also known as Shenlin Mountain. It is commonly known as Taihuang Mountain and Taihuang Mountain.

According to "Ganquan Local Chronicles", Meishui Spring originates from Shenlin Mountain, covering an area of ??more than 1 feet wide, with flying currents and a sweet taste. According to tests and appraisals by relevant departments, Ganquan Meishui is a rare mineral water in China. The water contains anti-aging monosilicic acid. Local people who drink this water have rosy complexions, good digestion, no endemic diseases, and a higher average life expectancy than the surrounding people. Out of 10 years old.

The spring water was occasionally drank by Emperor Yang Guang of the Sui Dynasty when he was hunting. He felt refreshed and named the spring water, and used it as drinking water for the palace. The sweet spring and beautiful water became famous all over the world. Historical records record that Emperor Yang visited Mount Taihe. Seeing the shade of the trees, the clear ripples of the spring water, and the strange birds rolling sideways in the spring, Emperor Yang was so intoxicated by this scene that he stopped his sedan chair and rested by the spring. The villagers and officials quickly cooked tea and served it to Emperor Yang, who drank it. It tasted very sweet, and he was full of praises. He ordered the spring to be called Mei Shuiquan, and ordered the area to be designated as a restricted area. All villagers were not allowed to enter the restricted area. From then on, the spring was exclusively used for drinking by the emperor's court. It was followed in the Tang Dynasty until the Empress Dowager Cixi of the Qing Dynasty. The emperor sent servants to carry water from the sweet spring to Chang'an, a distance of hundreds of miles, day and night. If there were no elm thorns growing locally in the water, he would be punished immediately for deceiving the emperor. According to records in "Taiping Huanyu Ji", the sweet spring was about one foot deep and flowed down. It tasted sweet. Emperor Yang of the Sui Dynasty visited here to drink it and brought it into the palace.

About 10 meters in front of Meishui Spring, there is a stone tablet recording the construction of the sweet spring. A unique tree grows around the spring, which the locals call the thorn elm. It looks like a thorn rose and is covered with elm thorns. Using the beautiful water to make food will not change despite the heat. The brewed tea will be fragrant, smooth and sweet, and the tofu made can float on the water. The dried tofu here is a major local specialty.
