When will the chaos of Huashan Festival stop?

Miao nationality is an ancient nation with many branches. Different branches have different cultures. As far as the Huashan Festival, the biggest festival of Miao nationality, is concerned, the Amao branch is mostly held during the Dragon Boat Festival, and the white, flower, young and black peanut festivals in Wenshan, Honghe and Guangxi are held at the same time as the New Year. However, in recent years, Huashan Festival has been held out of order from time to time. For example, in the Leopard Cave in Mengzi, Huashan Festival is held through Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival or National Day. Actually, it's to find a name for the bullfight. In recent years, there are flowers and mountains everywhere. When you go out by bike 10km, you can step on four or five Huashan fields, and two Huashan fields can look at each other. It can be said that it is normal to visit more than a dozen Huashan fields a day.

Recently, I read the novel "Rainbow Tears" written by Mr. Zhu Kaiyong, which tells the story of a mountain village Miao Village in the virgin forest of Laojun Mountain in Wenshan, Yunnan. The protagonists of the story, Tao and Zhu Tianyu, the lovers and their parents, lived a slash-and-burn life by hunting in the virgin forest. However, Long Zhenshan, the bully landlord at the foot of the mountain, and Wang Ciren, the boss of Huakai House, are drooling over the game in the mountain, the formula of Miao medicine and the beautiful women in Miao village. They dragged the once peaceful mountain village into blood shed by means of seduction, tax coercion, robbery on the way, kidnapping and assassination. Thus, the tragic struggle stories are deduced, such as Tao was kidnapped and rescued, Zhu Tianyu and other clever dragons killed the general of the government, the big landlord Long Zhenshan and Wang Ciren, slaughtered Miao Village bloody, Tao and Zhu Tianyu were arrested to save the people from dying in the sea of fire, and Tao Wei rescued Miao Village and surrendered with the enemy. One of the chapters is about Huashan Festival-Miao Village holds Huashan Festival with flower poles to unite the people of Laojunshan and provide a platform for young men and women to love each other, so as to reproduce and fight against Wang Ciren. The Huashan Festival described in the novel is very lively. After the Huashan Festival was held in the Miao village of Laojunshan, many Miao villages in Hua Kai came to participate. Huashan field is very lively, and young Miao men and women tell each other their songs. Widowed and lonely people sing to each other and form families. The scene is beautiful.

Wu Zhuangyuan, a senior student who graduated from Honghe University, participated in filming a documentary interview with Master Lusheng of Pingbian Miao nationality during the summer vacation. I was lucky enough to hear some dialogues in this documentary, including a dialogue about Huashan Festival.

Teacher Luo Youliang, the interviewer, asked Master Hou (Master Lu Sheng): "Now few people come to learn the process of erecting flower poles from you, and now the content of erecting flower poles in Huashan Festival has changed a little, leaving only bullfighting, cockfighting and bird fighting. Are you worried that the content of Huashan Festival will deteriorate in the future? "

Master Hou replied, "This is because young people nowadays like to watch bullfighting very much. If the Huashan field bypasses the bullfight, it will be defeated. I really don't agree that bullfighting is an activity that makes trouble in Huashan Stadium. I have always disapproved. In Pingbian County, Huashan Festival in previous years was used for bullfighting. Bullfighting prizes are tens of thousands, and the singer only takes a towel. I have some opinions on this, just like in previous years. When I was in Hekou, all the boys and girls in Hekou had motorcycles. They got up early automatically and rode on our screen to step on Huashan Mountain after breakfast. At that time, it was stipulated that Huashan Festival could only be the busiest day, so prizes were awarded at noon that day, but only one towel was given. When it was Hekou's turn to award prizes, how much did I pay? Send fifty dollars, sixty dollars. They said it's better to stay in our own place, so we have to have a towel before running to the screen ... "

Lao Luo asked again: "Mr. Hou, I have another idea. I want to hear your opinions. " Because Huashan Festival is a grand festival for our Miao people, do you advocate that this village committee should also be established, and that village committee should also be established? Still want everyone to stand together? "

Master Hou said, "Take this situation as an example. Here, I belong to the Maojia village Committee, and there is also a village Committee next door, and there is also a village Committee on the mountain. If my family stands here, so will the village committee next door and another village committee. There are many people, so it's not lively. My idea is that you should be lively, where there are many people and villages, and it is more lively to set up flower poles here. There are many places in Huashan, but not many people. "

As Master Hou said, this situation does not only exist in Pingbian County. I remember when I was in primary school, my family would get up early in Huashan Festival. Dad is preparing breakfast, and my mother and I are dressed up. After dinner, we put on new clothes. The family drove a tractor to attend the Huashan Festival held by the village committee next door. At that time, there were few Huashan farms, so no matter which Huashan farm you went to, it was crowded with people. Looking around, except for tractors everywhere, only people push each other, which is called excitement. During the Spring Festival of 20 18, because the Huashan Festival around us was really boring, we drove all the way from Pingyuan Street to wenshan city, from Wenshan City to Yanshan County, and finally returned to the original point. Along the way, we didn't deliberately go to the village, just walked along the national highway, but there were countless Huashan fields along the way. Some Huashan fields even have only one flower pole there, while others are few. More lively should be Huashan Tian in Huazhuang, Dehou Town, and Xiangshuilong in Yanshan County. However, personally, I think the Huashan field of Xiangshuilong is more lively, because besides the well-known Miao artists in China, there are many foreign Miao stars, and there is a big statue of Lusheng at the entrance of Huashan field, which is very lively. However, the Huashan Festival in Huazhuang lacks many ethnic elements, and various amusement facilities occupy 2/3 of the Huashan field. As my father often tells me, "There used to be tractors everywhere on Huashan Mountain, and sometimes traffic jams stopped until midnight. Later, motorcycles became popular, and there were motorcycles everywhere in Huashan. Now people live very well, and every family can afford a private car, but it is difficult to see cars everywhere on Huashan as before. " Isn't it?

A search on Baidu found that "during the festival, Miao people dressed up and gathered in the traditional jumping field, young men and women danced on the flower pole in the center of the field, and young men also held pole climbing, horse racing, archery, singing, dancing, beauty pageant and other competitions, with the number reaching hundreds of thousands for a long time". In addition, I remember that during the Huashan Festival, there will be some small activities in the village, such as cockfighting, gyro and swinging, which are very lively even in the village. Now, however, with the passage of time, these activities have remained in childhood. Now, it is estimated that few people will cut the gyro to play, let alone the children after 00, even if they have never seen the gyro. Moreover, the activities of Huashan field are becoming more and more single. I can't think of anything worth mentioning except going to see the bullfight now. If there is, it must be a DJ dancing around on the stage. A good traditional festival has been made "people are not like people, ghosts are not like ghosts", and some people even fought in Huashan Stadium because they lost money in bullfighting. Now many young people don't want to go to Huashan Festival. In the past two years, Huashan Festival was not held because of the epidemic situation. Many friends around me said that it doesn't matter whether it is held or not. They won't go anyway. I asked: Why? The answer they gave me was: What's the point of going to Huashan to eat ash? Only bullfighting is worth seeing. It's hot and sunny, so sit at home! Yes, I feel more and more that Huashan Festival has lost its charm and become dull.

In the previous Huashan Festival, there were folk songs, climbing flower poles, kicking shuttlecock, playing lusheng and other interesting activities. Nowadays, besides bullfighting, Huashan Festival has turned traditional bullfighting into a form of gambling, and some unscrupulous businessmen openly set up stalls to gamble. As a result, during the Spring Festival, the police uncle came to maintain order inspection, and even Huashan Field was sealed up in serious places. Afterwards, someone complained to the police uncle that it was obviously a national holiday and they had no right to detain it. However, this national festival has changed its flavor and turned into a gambling scene. A few years ago, besides bullfighting, there were song and dance performances and some interesting things to see. Even if the demons dance wildly, they can enjoy entertainment. However, in recent years, it is the "wandering singer" who has occupied the stage. They are not Hmong. They just stand on the stage and sell their records, tape recorders and so on. For the sake of business, they can sing and shout all day long, even for a few days, and turn the stage that should have been used to perform for the versatile Miao girls into their own stage. Having said that, I have to mention a Miao Huashan Festival microfilm "Huashan Love" filmed in Pomegranate Red, wenshan city on September 20. This micro-film is launched from the perspective of a Miao girl, from making Miao costumes to erecting flower poles, and then to various activities at the flower show, such as playing lusheng, jumping lusheng, making wooden calls and so on. It perfectly shows the traditional face of the Miao Huashan Festival. There is also the International Huashan Festival in Tian Peng, Funing County, which is also very lively. During the festival, Chinese and Vietnamese Miao compatriots gathered together to show their talents and enhance national feelings.

Now the Huashan Festival gives me the biggest feeling: What else can I do besides eating? Four or five Huashan farms a day, and it's almost enough. Comparing the Huashan Festival of Amao compatriots in Zhaotong, I think the Huashan Festival in Honghe and Wenshan is really not as good as theirs. When I was a freshman, I participated in the Huashan Festival in Zhaotong City, where every Amao Miao compatriot attached great importance to this festival and made preparations in advance, which was very organized. From welcoming guests and singing toast song to performing, the arrangement is orderly, the performance is moderate and the fun is moderate. In short, everyone has their own things to do, and people are immersed in laughter. I asked curiously: Is there no bullfighting in Huashan Festival here? They told me that they never fought bullfights during the Huashan Festival. What makes me happiest is also my favorite wine. The host will organize the beautiful girls in the village to hold their horns. When guests come, they will pour wine into the speakers and sing welcome songs or toast songs to welcome guests from afar. But in Honghe and Wenshan, I have never seen this custom in any Huashan farm. What is even more frightening is that some Huashan farms actually charge fees. A good national festival has become a good way to collect money. Unlike China, Southeast Asian countries, such as Thailand and Laos, do not celebrate Huashan Festival, but Noj Peb Caug. During the festival, they are basically their own compatriots, including bullfighting, delicious food, football matches and the most distinctive hydrangea. In the festival venue, national costumes and many traditional residential buildings are filled for people to watch and take photos for free. I think this is probably done for people. On the Huashan Mountain in China, the traditional national elements have gradually disappeared from the field of vision. Except for the tall flower pole and those Miao compatriots dressed in festive costumes, we can't see any folk customs belonging to the Miao nationality. Various large-scale amusement facilities, circuses and game booths have replaced our tradition. It is precisely because of this that the current Huashan Festival will become more and more boring, and it is not as interesting as going to the market.

In addition to these, we mentioned at the beginning that Huashan Festival is held out of order during non-holiday periods, and the phenomenon of Leopard Cave is not a case. Many places do the same, so I won't list them here. I remember once in a qq group, I had a heated argument with a few friends and a compatriot in the group because of Huashan Festival. Some people think that holding Huashan Festival during non-holidays is good for inheriting Miao culture, especially for the younger generation. For example, the Miao Association of Yunnan Institute of Economics and Management holds Huashan Festival once a year. However, I think it will do more harm than good to hold Huashan Festival during non-holidays. Miao Association of Yunnan Institute of Economics and Management, the purpose of holding Huashan Festival is to inherit Miao excellent culture, unite Miao compatriots, enrich the college life of Miao college students and provide a good platform for the exchange of Miao compatriots. I don't object to holding Huashan Festival in non-holiday period in colleges and universities, but I object to holding Huashan Festival in non-holiday period in society. Different from the Huashan Festival held by the Miao Association in colleges and universities during non-holidays, the Huashan Festival held during non-holidays in society aims at finding suitable excuses for bullfighting, and then charging admission fees above 50 yuan. When erecting the flower pole, they didn't know the ceremony of the flower pole. They just found a piece of wood at random, tied pine at the top and inserted it into the soil, which made the flower pole lack the sense of ceremony and seriousness. Moreover, in some places, the Han people actually set up flower poles, and they didn't understand the customs of Miao people's flower poles, so they also set up flower poles to collect booth fees and parking fees. What needs to be explained here is that I am not targeting the Han nationality, and I don't think Huashan Festival is dominated by the Miao family. However, the grand and serious ceremony of setting up the style column must be done by the Miao people, and it is during the festival. Why? Because the origin of Huashan Festival is to commemorate the Miao ancestor Chiyou and unite the Miao people, it has far-reaching significance. Although with the development of the times, Huashan Festival has become a festival of national unity and a symbol of national unity, we cannot forget the origin of the festival and the customs passed down from generation to generation.

Year after year, I hope that the energy conservation of Huashan can be carried out as filmed in the micro-film "Flower Mountain Love". I hope that the Huashan Stadium will be filled with people who play top and chicken feathers, and one after another versatile Miao compatriots will perform on the stage, instead of a large group of people around a bullring all day "three hundred, two hundred" (a special term for bullfighting and gambling lovers, I don't quite understand). The epidemic will eventually pass, and Huashan Festival, a grand Miao festival, will also be held. I just hope that Miao compatriots all over the country can unite as one, run the Huashan Festival well and hold a lively and colorful Huashan Festival.
