Russia! The Tibetan word means tiger sden. It is said that a tiger appeared here a long time ago, so it was named after it. Dalagou is located in the southern part of Diebu County and borders Jiuzhaigou County in Sichuan Province to the south. The Minshan Mountains stretch for thousands of miles from east to west, like a huge natural barrier. Due to its special geographical location, Dalagou in Diebu County has become the only ancient Tongchuan Road in the Dieshan Mountains. Li Daoyan, a famous general of the Tang Dynasty, entered Sichuan in his campaigns against Tuyuhun, Kublai Khan, and his conquest of Yunnan. After the world-famous 25,000-mile Long March, tens of thousands of Red Army soldiers entered Gansu and held a Russian conference in Gaoji Village, which played an important role in the history of the Communist Party of China, leaving behind the remains of the Red Army. Gaoji Village is a Tibetan village with relatively flat terrain, surrounded by mountains and rivers, facing north and south. Walking here feels like entering a fairyland surrounded by green mountains and green waters. Looking around, pictures/scenes showing Tibetan customs such as stacked wooden houses, waterwheels, white pagodas, and prayer flags flooded into our eyes.
This small village full of Tibetan style has been telling us the story of the Red Army’s 70-year Long March. In September 1935, the First Army of the Chinese Workers' and Peasants' Red Army walked out of Zoige Grassland and entered Gaoji Village, the first village in Gansu. On September 12, the Party Central Committee held an emergency enlarged meeting of the Political Bureau (Russian meeting) in a small courtyard with the appearance of a cave dwelling in the east of the village. A series of important decisions made by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China here were instrumental in determining the strategic policy of advancing north, defeating Zhang's mistake of splitting the party and the Red Army, and successfully completing the Red Army's Long March, leaving a glorious page in the history of the Long March. Under the careful protection of the landowners and the township of Dara, the former site of the Russian World Congress remains intact. Russia has now become a famous red education base, and thousands of patriotic young people visit it every year.
