Section 2 Overview of Hotel Industry

I. Scope of the hotel

Hotel industry provides catering, accommodation or accommodation services for people as a whole, while services provided by other industries are carried out on an accidental basis. The scope of the hotel industry is very extensive, so to understand the hotel industry in a broad sense, we must never discuss the scope of the hotel industry only by such enterprises with hotel and restaurant names. Hotel industry is mainly composed of two basic industries, namely, catering industry and accommodation industry, which are usually collectively referred to as hotels and tourism. First of all, we should understand the concept of the hotel industry, which can be said to be the core composition of the hotel industry.

(A) the catering industry

Catering industry refers to restaurants and hotels, that is, catering industry and accommodation industry. These are two closely related natural industries. Catering and tourism are compatible, and accommodation and catering are interrelated. You have me, I have you, and there are points and combinations. In addition to retaining its own independent personality, it is gradually recognized and defined by more inclusive hotel (or restaurant) names. From this, we can clearly see that the most basic part of the hotel industry is the hotel industry, that is, the catering industry and accommodation industry.

(2) Tourism and hotel industry

Tourism is bigger than the hotel industry and the largest industry in the world. In addition to directly including tourist hotels, tourist transportation, travel agencies, tourist areas and other industries, it also involves catering, entertainment, shopping and other industries. Services such as catering and accommodation are an important part of tourism, which directly undertake the first two of the six major contents of tourism: eating, living, traveling, shopping and entertainment. The hotel industry receives all kinds of guests from the place where it is located. It has the service function outside the tourism industry and is an important industry outside the tourism industry. In this sense, the hotel industry is a cross-industry of tourism.
