Mahu Holiday Inn

Last year, during the National Day holiday, some friends from the Academy and I drove to Mahu Lake in Liangshan Prefecture.

Mahu Lake is located in Leibo County, about 350 kilometers away from Chengdu, and it takes more than 5 hours by car.

Leiboma Lake is a provincial-level scenic spot, located in Leibo County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, with an area of 100 square kilometers, 47 kilometers away from the county seat, 280 kilometers away from Xichang and Leshan, and 0/37 kilometers away from Yibin/kloc. The scenic spot is composed of Mahu Lake, Jinsha River Canyon and primitive dense forest, and it is a bright pearl in the depths of Xiaoliangshan Mountain. Mahu Lake is a large natural deep-water lake on the plateau, with a water area of 73 square kilometers. There are mountain barriers in the east, west and south, and natural stone dams piled up by basalt and limestone fragments in the north. The harbor in the lake area is deep, the shore of the lake is tortuous and changeable, the limestone layer at the bottom of the lake is smooth and fine, and there is no silt. The lake is clear and transparent all the year round without any pollution. The coast around the lake is surrounded by tea gardens and forests. Lush trees, lakes and mountains complement each other and the scenery is beautiful. The Jinsha River Gorge is steep, the river is swift, the cliffs are towering, and the rocks are like forests, which is extremely steep. Yi people live in this area, which is a village with national characteristics and historical and cultural relics, adding interest to the scenic spot. Mahu scenic area has a large number of virgin forests, full of towering old trees, vines and lichens, full of simplicity. Scenic spots around Leiboma Lake include Wang Cong Temple, Qingyang Palace, Chongzhou Jiulonggou Scenic Area, Wang Jian Tomb and Sangtui Town.
