What does Patan mean in Nepali?

Patan is located 5 meters south of Kathmandu, across the river from Kathmandu. It is a famous ancient capital of Nepal, which was built in about 298 AD. Patan means "commercial city" in Nepalese. The whole city is designed according to the shape of Buddhist prayer wheel, with a bowl-covered stupa in the middle, which is similar in shape to the White Pagoda in China.
