The cost of traveling to Hong Kong
It sounds like you are traveling freely.
Let me talk about myself. I go to Hong Kong and take the subway for an average of 20 to 30 times a day, because it is calculated based on distance.
A little over 20 for breakfast is enough.
For lunch, I will eat a bowl of chicken or goose rice at a tea restaurant and get a cup of frozen lemon tea for 25.
Dinner is also equivalent to lunch.
There are a lot of convenience stores like 7-11 over there, and the water they sell is basically not cheap. Mineral water is also available for HKD 5 to HKD 20. Coke usually costs HKD 7 to 8 (the hotel usually sells it every morning) There will be a free bottle of water in the room that you can take with you).
In total, food, water and transportation are basically $120 per day. 600 for 5 days. In fact, you will miss two meals on the first and last days combined, but the money will be paid at the airport bus. .
D-mop clothes are heavily discounted. To be honest, you would be sorry if you didn’t buy two pieces. T-shirts from Japanese trendy brands cost 200, which is normal, and jeans range from 500 to 2,000. I think the cheapest jeans are quite handsome~~~
That’s 700 for 5 days, even if you don’t buy anything. That's enough.
Something to note.
1. Check the exchange rate before you leave. When you arrive in Hong Kong, you can exchange 100 yuan at the airport. It is the money you need to take the bus and urgently need. Exchanging more will be a loss. When you take the bus to the city, there are many places to change money on the roadside, and the exchange rate can be higher.
2. On the first day I arrived in Hong Kong, I didn’t know anyone anywhere. I couldn’t find the east, west, north, or south at all. You have to remember to ask passers-by for directions in standard Mandarin, Cantonese, or English. They will definitely understand. This is the most reliable.
3. Remember not to wear too many clothes before getting on the plane from mainland China. Just wear a thin jacket over a pair of pants and a short-sleeved T-shirt. It is quite hot over there. Take off your clothes when you arrive at the Hong Kong Airport. Too much trouble.
4. Watch your luggage carefully. Although the security in Hong Kong is very, very, very good, you must also be aware of precautions.
5. Remember that when you arrive in Hong Kong, you have to wait for the red light even if you cross the road on foot. This is because Hong Kong people also wait for the red light when crossing the road without an overpass. As a result, cars will not brake at all when crossing the green light, and they will still drive. You have to go fast. I witnessed the speed of the car when the light turned green. Anyway, I didn't dare to rush, and no one was rushing there...
6. Try to lower the volume in public places, otherwise I don't know what will happen. Awkward situations happen.
7. If you smoke, or if you have friends who smoke, don’t throw away cigarette butts. There are a lot of trash cans on the roads in Hong Kong. If you are caught by the police for throwing mineral water bottles, the fines are not very severe. The same goes for paper towels, which cost more than 1,000 Hong Kong dollars.
8. You don’t need to bring medicine. Bring some band-aids to avoid any problems. Band-aids are not cheap in Hong Kong, only $20 per pack.
9. When staying in a hotel, remember to check if there is a safe in the room. If there is, try to put your laptop in it. Although you will go to Hong Kong 10,000 times and it will not be stolen once, you still need to take precautions.
10. Maybe you know Mong Kok before. It’s quite bustling there, but of course it’s also a bit chaotic. In addition to looking at the good things, remember not to take your camera too close to take pictures of the mahjong parlor. They have a mahjong parlor outside. Camera, the young and Dangerous boys near the mahjong parlor will treat you as a dangerous person and take you to an alley to beat you up...be sure to remember~~~~
11. There is a place between Mong Kok and Yau Ma Tei called " You may know that "Bolan Street" is a red light district, the situation is relatively complicated, and there are gangsters everywhere. If you have no intention of going into a bathing center or a prostitution place, no matter what they call you, don't pay attention to them. Of course, don't. Just push them away rudely and wave your hands.
12. Forgot to mention the most important thing, the map.
Hong Kong Airport may provide it for free. It is best to prepare a copy before you go. Just print it out after searching it online. Don’t really get lost. Taking a taxi is a bit expensive unless you bring a lot of money.
Let me recommend a few more places to you: Lamma Island (beautiful scenery, seafood~~~), Causeway Bay (a shopping paradise), Central and Sheung Wan (don’t tell me you haven’t even visited Hong Kong before) I have seen the Convention and Exhibition Center), Mong Kok (actually not that scary, there are many young men and women, the fashion sense is better than that in Beijing and Shanghai for several years, shopping is extremely cheap~~~), the top of the mountain (you must see the night view on the top of the mountain, there are wax figures on it restaurant), Lan Kwai Fong (the streets are full of foreigners, the main thing is that it feels so comfortable to buy a beer and drink here)
In the end, it was nothing. The last time I went there, it felt special. Enjoy, and I wish you a great time
