Methods of learning English to remember words

The methods of memorizing English words include dispersing time, memorizing word order skillfully, mastering pronunciation rules, memorizing words in time, and mastering the "radicals" of words.

1, carry a small card with you and use the scattered time.

For some people who are already working or have heavy schoolwork, it is unrealistic to set aside a period of time to learn English every day. Therefore, we should make effective use of those scattered time to study. Copy the words you want to recite every day on a small card, and take them out in your spare time such as waiting for the bus, waiting for the elevator, waiting in line to check out. Over time, there will be a qualitative leap.

2. Use word order skillfully.

Learn to remember words in three order: sequential memory, reverse memory and disordered memory.

Recite the words in order the first time, in reverse order the second time, and out of order the third time. Recite first, back, establish a corresponding relationship and recite the words thoroughly. You can even recite words by region to give full play to associative memory, such as what words will be used in working at the airport, what words will be used in taking the subway, and so on.

3, master the rules of pronunciation and recite words.

Master the corresponding rules of phonetic symbols, read and write, which letters each sound corresponds to, and mobilize the ears, mouth, eyes and hands to listen, speak, read and write uniformly. Words in English are pronounced regularly, such as the pronunciation of F in ph, and the beginning H of some words is silent. I suggest you learn the pronunciation rules first, and then recite the words.

4. Review in time.

Forgetting is regular, and the process of forgetting is unbalanced. In the initial stage of memory, forgetting speed is very fast, and then it will gradually slow down.

When memorizing words, you can't know all the words on a page. First cross out what you know, and then start reciting what you don't know. There must be words you have learned in the first review, so mark those forgotten words, and just look at the marked words in the next review, so that the efficiency of memorizing words will be improved.

5. Master the word "radical"

In fact, English words, like Chinese characters, have many radicals-root affixes. Generally speaking, the root is the basic meaning, and the prefix and suffix determine the part of speech.

Although 100% is not accurate, it improves the ability to read words and understand meaning to some extent. However, root affixes need a certain number of words, and the effect will not be very good if they are used too early. But don't worry, as the number of words increases, you will always find the beauty of this method.
