Tangqi Town is located in the north of Hangzhou, bordering Deqing County, Huzhou City, about 20 kilometers away from the urban center and about 13 kilometers away from Linping, where the district government is located. The famous Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal runs through the town, making it a waterway for Jiangsu, Shanghai, Jiaxing and lakes. Tangqi has been the water gateway of Hangzhou for generations.

Tangqi, located at the southern end of Hangjiahu Plain, is an important town in northern Zhejiang, a famous water town in the south of the Yangtze River and a sub-center of Linping Sub-city in Hangzhou. Tangqi is flat, with an average elevation of 3.2 meters. It belongs to subtropical monsoon climate, warm and humid, with four distinct seasons. The annual average temperature is 16.2 degrees, and the annual average precipitation is between 1200- 1300mm. The town has fertile land and abundant rainfall.
