The original idea of the Sailing Hotel was put forward by Allermark Toum, UAE's defense minister and Crown Prince of Dubai. After the whimsy of hundreds of designers around the world, plus the huge money bags of Dubai people and five years, we finally created a fantastic building-a perfect combination of rich Islamic style and extremely luxurious decoration with high-tech technology and building materials, and the building itself won many awards.

The owner of this hotel is Murray &; Robers) Company and Habtoor Engineering Enterprises L.L.C., a local large-scale construction contractor in the United Arab Emirates, spent five years before and after, including two and a half years to fill the artificial islands in the Arabian Sea and two and a half years to build the building itself. 9000 tons of steel was used in the project, which achieved the feat of driving 250 capital construction piles under 40 meters deep sea.
