Thoughts on Reading Autumn Garden: 1200 words

On July 9th, when I was interviewed by People, I saw this article "Grandma Writing in the Kitchen" and took it for granted that it was another fan, Su Yu. After reading it, I immediately placed an order for Autumn Garden and finished reading this little book in two nights.

Author Yang Benfen's Autumn Garden tells the story of mother's autumn garden and daughter's flowers. In the years of war, hunger, hard work and no fixed place to live, mother and daughter never forget their sense of responsibility for their families and their thirst for knowledge. Calm words imply the suffering and gift of life, behind which are difficulties, stormy waves, forbearance and strength.

Yuan Qiu has been wandering all his life. When I was a child, I studied in Luoyang private school for a year, and when I got married, I asked the other person to continue studying (although it didn't happen). Her husband, Yang Renshou, is a colonel's staff officer in the Kuomintang Military Service Department. After their marriage, they settled in Nanjing with the government and attended a women's cram school in Yuan Qiu. When they moved to Chongqing with the government again, in hankou wharf, Renshou couldn't help thinking of his old father in his hometown, got off the boat and returned to Xiangyin, far from his official career. In order to support the family, Yuan Qiu worked as a primary school teacher. With more and more children, it becomes more and more difficult to make a living. Besides teaching, Yuan Qiu has to do needlework for others. Looking back after the land reform, Renshou was reclassified as an old official, became a public enemy, and the whole family was bullied. The children begged with their mother and had a hard time. Nevertheless, Yuan Qiu encouraged her daughter to go to school. Life was hard. I took my two sons to Luoyang to go to my brother, but I couldn't find anything to do. On the way back, she was taken to Hubei by Hunan villagers to make clothes for a living. In order to avoid being washed out, she remarried to a cadre's house, and stayed there for twenty years, experiencing the pain of losing her son, and didn't return to Xiangyin until her husband died.

Daughter Hua is another experience. In order to make Yuan Qiu feel at ease in teaching, she can only take her siblings to do housework at home. Finally, at the age of twelve, Zhihua finally went to school. Later, Zhihua joined the * * * Youth League, participated in the commando team and was admitted to the technical school. Besides attending classes, I also go to the library to read books. If the school closes, all the students will go back to their original places. Zhihua decided to "run" and never go back to his hometown. She bought a ticket to Yichun with the only money, went to the construction site to work hard, went to the university where she worked, and was later sent to be an educated youth to marry and have children with local youth.

The story of the novel is vivid and the plot is not procrastinating, but the details are also mixed. No matter how poor your family is, don't forget education. When asking for an old acquaintance, the other party invited him to dinner. Facing a table of food, Yuan Qiu said to him, "Mom knows how much you want to eat. If you want to eat, you can't make a hungry face. This is not in our own home, so we must be gentle when eating. Don't order good food first, and we won't get good food if others don't call us. Especially the bowl of chicken, don't use chopsticks to catch ... "

Renshou is the husband of the child's father, Yuan Qiu, and the first supporting actor in the novel. Just like his name, he is well-educated and kind-hearted. He always tried his best to donate money and materials to the people's difficulties, and finally his family was surrounded. He experienced almost all sufferings, poverty, deception, beatings and curses, imprisonment and hunger. The biggest gain is a virtuous wife and sensible children. That's such a person. When his daughter Hua begged to study for the last time, he suddenly came out of the kitchen with a kitchen knife in his hand, squatted down in front of Hua, put the kitchen knife around his neck and said, "If you don't send you to school next year, you will kill your father with this kitchen knife!" That's such a person. Seeing that his daughter couldn't stand hunger and stole millet, he touched Zhihua's head and said, "Dad doesn't blame you, but it won't happen again. Still a matter of reputation! " The same person, while eating, changed from gentleness to evil: he made an amazing chewing sound, not afraid of ugliness, his eyes turned red, his neck stretched out and his throat made an amazing thump. After eating, he greedily looked at the rice bowl, stuck out his tongue and licked it again. In the end, hunger took the life of the kind father who never beat or scolded his children, leaving only half a sentence in his last words.

The characters in the novel, such as Bing Tao, Jpua and Koizumi, seem to have no special rebellious spirit. They all accepted their fate with equanimity. Kindness, simplicity, resignation and never complaining, I can't help but think of a passage (general idea) that Yang Zhu said: Why do people who obey fate and don't resist pursue longevity, fame, power and wealth? Such a person is calm inside. Nothing from outside threatened him, and nothing opposed him. Their fate is determined by their own hearts. Even in the face of death, Yuan Qiu's attitude is still "not to live a hard life, but to live an impatient life". She holds death in her hands.

No matter what difficulties they have experienced, Yuan Qiu and Zhihua will never forget to go to school. Although they want to go to school all their lives, they never give up. This is the stubbornness rolled out of the soil, the perseverance soaked in the blood, the struggle flowing out of hunger, and the courage of generate from suffering. Later, Zhihua's three children all went to college.

Write these words down, and the author may be able to see them. I want to tell her that I like this job very much. Let people feel the salty tears, the surging blood, and the tenacity after helplessness. This is not an ordinary literary work, but the mark of life that Lawton has been pursuing since his fall.

Ps: In the process of reading this book and finishing this review, another mother and daughter kept appearing in my mind. My daughter is a book friend I have never met, and I don't know much about them. However, through the photos, I saw my mother in her eighties reading a book after her leg injury. Through the photos, I also saw my daughter regain her youth library card and walk into the library. Also dedicate this passage to them!
