What is the predecessor of Kunming Plaza 66?

The predecessor of Kunming Plaza 66 was a trade route.

The design of Kunming Plaza 66 is inspired by the unique landscape and natural scenery of Yunnan Province, as well as Kunming’s historical significance as a prosperous commercial hub on trade routes since ancient times. At the heart of the project is a landscaped promenade recalling the area’s lush green valleys.

The imagery here has now been repurposed as undulating podiums and cliff-like towers, echoing the adjacent Yunnan Stone Forest. Commercial, office and serviced apartment formats are intertwined around the pedestrian walkway on multi-level terraces. These connected terraces form rows of shops and restaurants, forming a vibrant space. The interweaving of multiple business formats produces an overall effect that is far greater than the effect of simple local superposition.

Plaza 66

With the slogan "Kunming brightens up, light up Kunming", Plaza 66 divides the shopping mall business into four categories: food, famous snacks, entertainment and decoration. , respectively corresponding to catering, retail, entertainment and beauty.

The most eye-catching thing inside the mall is the three transparent sightseeing elevators. The wavy and streamlined design makes the straight glass elevator look vivid and natural, attracting the attention of entering customers and increasing the passenger flow in the vertical movement line.

The main atrium is wide and column-free, with excellent visibility and a panoramic view of the businesses on the sixth floor. The terrace treatment at the escalator on the left is unified to enhance the visibility of the space, and the large columns are cleverly blocked visually, adding a little "softness" to the "rules".
