The History of Tong Yuan Bridge

During Zheng De's reign in Ming Dynasty, Gan Gongliang, the magistrate of Huizhou, built this bridge.

After the founding of New China, it was built twice.

Old Tong Yuan Bridge was built in 1969 and rebuilt in 1983.

The new Tong Yuan Bridge was built in 1983 and 1993. The results of structural inspection in 2006 show that the concrete strength of the bridge is low, the cracks are numerous and wide, far exceeding the limit value of the code, the structure is seriously damaged, and the technical grade is rated as D.

The inspection results in 2009 show that the overall working condition of the bridge is poor, the arch rib is cracked in the middle and the arch foot, the arch rib section strength is insufficient, the bridge stiffness, section strength and dynamic characteristics do not meet the requirements, the filling at the bottom of the abutment sinks, and the technical grade is evaluated as E-class.

On 20 10, the municipal public bureau temporarily strengthened the bridge and set steel pipes in the middle of the span for temporary support and reinforcement. After reinforcement, the fluctuation amplitude of most arch rib cracks is obviously reduced.

20 1 1, Tong Yuan Bridge is included in the urban construction plan.
