Personal Self-Assessment for Hotel Management Major

I am a senior studying hotel management at ** University. When I was preparing to graduate, the school arranged for me to stay at ** Grand Hotel for one month. During the internship, I went to the hotel's guest room department, catering department and marketing department to study in the front desk. This internship benefited me a lot and was a good opportunity for me to learn book knowledge in my four years of university. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the following is the internship appraisal.

The second is the catering department. The food and beverage department is the department with the largest number of employees, the largest workload, and the most complex and arduous work in the hotel. During the study of this position, I learned a series of basic restaurant service methods from senior restaurant waiters how to set up the table, remove the table, order and serve dishes. And have a better understanding of the service process of the restaurant.

First of all, I went to the hotel to study in the housekeeping department. In the housekeeping department, I learned from the cleaning lady and the room attendant how to clean and check the rooms. And learned about the daily work procedures of the housekeeping department from other staff. While studying in the housekeeping department, I learned the most basic methods of making beds, cleaning bathrooms and simple room service methods in the hotel. It gave me a preliminary understanding of the basic commodities sold in the hotel.

Finally, there is the main station. The front desk is the facade of a hotel, where guests form their first impression of the hotel. The services at the front desk basically cover all the services that the hotel can provide. Therefore, front desk staff need to have sufficient understanding of various departments of the hotel to provide guests with satisfactory and thoughtful services. During this period, I gained an in-depth understanding of and conducted practical operations on some basic daily front desk operations such as how hotel guests check in and out.

The short one-month internship ended quickly. In this project, I finally realized the difference between the roles of work and study. I not only learned the basic methods and techniques of hotel service from hotel employees, I realized how to communicate and get along with guests and colleagues, and I was even more moved by the selfless professionalism of hotel staff. This not only laid a good foundation for my future theoretical study, but also gave me a good start in the hotel industry in the future.
