Tangjiahe Nature Reserve is located in Qingchuan County on the northwest edge of Sichuan Basin. It is located in Lingnan Mountain, a skyscraper on the north side of Longmen Mountain. The whole terrain inclines slightly from northwest to southeast. The terrain is complex, the peaks overlap and the cutting is serious. It is located in the transition zone between the northern end of Hengduan Mountains and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. During the Quaternary glacial activity, there was no large-scale ice sheet, so many ancient species were preserved. According to the investigation, there are more than 365,438+000 kinds of higher plants in this area, and more than a dozen precious trees are Davidia involucrata, Pistacia chinensis, Liriodendron chinense, Acer truncatum and Eucommia ulmoides. Vegetation presents a typical vertical distribution. There are 365,438+00 species of vertebrates, among which 25 species of national key protected wild animals such as giant panda, golden monkey, pronghorn, green-tailed pheasant, blue pheasant, golden pheasant and giant salamander are extremely precious. Among birds, the number and species of thrush living in bushes are the largest, with a total of 17 species.

There are a large number of giant pandas in this area, and their distribution is concentrated. Mainly living in mixed coniferous and broadleaved forests and subalpine coniferous forests at an altitude of 1700-3000m. These areas are rich in bamboo resources, and the bamboo that bloomed and died in the 1970s has been updated to more than 1 m high, providing rich food and a good living environment for rare animals such as giant pandas, and making the giant pandas in nature reserves live well. Baixiongping Ecological Observatory, the second world-famous giant panda field positioning observatory, is located here.

At the same time, this area is also an important transit point for migratory birds to migrate from temperate zone to tropical zone, which is also rare in China. Therefore, Tangjiahe Nature Reserve has important protection, scientific research, education and ecological value.
