500 years ago, a frustrated middle-aged man in Suzhou built a private house, which is now a world heritage.

This is Xiaoyu's travel diary, stop and go, and watch the world with me.

The ancients said, "How can you know spring scenery unless you are in the garden?" If you travel to Suzhou in spring, you should see the gardens anyway. So, I picked a non-weekend time and bought a ticket to enter the Humble Administrator's Garden. As we all know, even though I was fully prepared, I was deeply shocked by the flow of people in Humble Administrator's Garden.

It is no exaggeration to say that the most "disturbing" part of my trip to the south of the Yangtze River last spring was spent in Suzhou Humble Administrator's Garden, but now that I think about it, I still feel haunted.

I have always liked ethnic scenic spots. There must be few tourists, so it's better not to get tickets. There are many gardens in Suzhou, and Humble Administrator's Garden is the most famous one. Why did you come? Privately, gardens are different from natural landscapes, and sightseeing in gardens is only the second. The most important thing is to understand the originality after the beautiful scenery and the aesthetic interest hidden behind it. Humble Administrator's Garden, the first of the four famous gardens in China, represents the highest level of classical gardens in China. It's natural to punch in when you come to Suzhou for the first time.

Go out early in the morning and take a bus from the hotel to Humble Administrator's Garden. I bought a ticket online in advance (it can be cheaper) and soon entered the park. The first time I came to Humble Administrator's Garden, I hired a docent (it was too expensive to hire a tour guide), and by the way, I got a free map from the tourist service center, and started my garden tour.

When visiting a garden, the first step is to know its owner. The Humble Administrator's Garden was built in the fourth year of Zheng De in Ming Dynasty (1509). Its owner is Wang, a middle-aged man who is frustrated in officialdom and has no choice but to resign and return to his hometown.

China classical garden art reached its peak in Ming and Qing Dynasties, and there was quite a gardening trend among literati and bureaucrats. Suzhou, in particular, has a prosperous economy and beautiful scenery, and is a gathering place for superb horticultural artists. Wang resigned from his post and lived in seclusion, hoping to build a private garden. There are not only good craftsmen but also good designers. With the help of Wen Zhiming, a good friend and one of the four great talents in the south of the Yangtze River, the Humble Administrator's Garden, which was praised by later generations as the "Mother of China Gardens", came into being.

After the completion of the Humble Administrator's Garden, it was repeatedly abandoned. In the past 500 years, more than 30 owners have changed their owners. Fortunately, it has survived to this day. Although today's gardens are much smaller than those of that year, they are still the largest existing gardens in Suzhou. From 65438 to 0997, Humble Administrator's Garden was also included in the World Heritage List.

The name of Humble Administrator's Garden comes from the phrase "build a house and plant trees, enjoy yourself" ... irrigate the garden and provide food for the morning and evening ... This is also a political event of a humble person "in Pan Yue, a scholar in the Western Jin Dynasty. Wang was named "Humble Administrator's Garden", which means that he is a "Humble Administrator's Garden" with watering flowers and growing vegetables as a "political" matter.

The whole garden also fully conveyed the pleasure of "enjoying the mountain scenery without going out of the city corridor and living in the downtown area with the interest of nymphs". Although it is located in Gusu City, it has the artistic conception of rural Shan Ye.

When I entered the park at eight in the morning, there were already many tourists. While listening to the explanation, I toured with the commentator. In the noisy crowd, if you want to understand the originality behind the pavilion, bridge and corridor on the first floor, you often have to listen to the explanation several times, so browsing is very slow.

There are too many landscapes in Humble Administrator's Garden, and every place has its origin. Every place can be carefully interpreted by writing an article. As a tourist, I just wandered around and may have missed many places. Looking back, Wang 16 years alone built this garden, and successive owners have been renovating it for more than 500 years. How can you fully understand the scenery, architecture and art inside in an instant?

The most impressive ones are Yuanxiangtang, Yuedao Fenglaige (Wuzhu Youju Pavilion), Xiaofeihong and Tingyuxuan. It is particularly worth mentioning that listening to the rain pavilion made me suddenly discover that gardens are not only used for seeing, but also for "listening".

There is a pool of clear water in front of Tingyuxuan, surrounded by several plantains, plus lotus leaves in the pool and bamboos on the shore, which is a quiet place. Best of all, when it rains, you just need to sit indoors and listen to the drip of plantains and lotus leaves through the window. This is probably the sound of nature.

It was sunny when I went, so naturally I couldn't hear the rain. But all of a sudden, I deeply felt that this garden visit is not only suitable all year round, but also has its own beauty in rain, snow and shine. Because of the master's intention, a garden with four seasons, between square inches, between grass and trees, creates the beauty of nature, which is exciting.

I visited the Humble Administrator's Garden until about ten o'clock, and when it was almost eleven o'clock, the number of visitors suddenly increased sharply. At lunch time at twelve o'clock, there were suddenly a lot fewer tourists. I guess it was the tour group that came to the garden at that time. Therefore, if individuals come to visit, it is recommended to be earlier or later to avoid overlapping with the tourism team. Otherwise, it's really noisy and you can't meditate.

Visiting the garden is a heart-to-heart conversation. Every corner has the meaning of predecessors, which is the great beauty of China's classical culture interwoven with humanities, architecture, art and history. You must taste a lot of beauty slowly and carefully. Don't miss it if you come to Suzhou.
