The English name of Mafamacuo Lake.

Mapam Yumco

Mafamucuo Lake, also known as Mapam Yumco or Mapang Lake, is the freshwater lake with the highest average elevation in the world (4,585 meters), located in Tibet, China, at the northern foot of the Himalayas.

Lake Mafamucuo is adjacent to Lake Lanjiacuo, and the nearby area is the birthplace of the Indus River, the Yarlung Zangbo River and the Peacock River (a tributary of the Ganges River), but the two lakes themselves have no exits.

Lake Mafamacuo is a sacred place of Hinduism. According to Hindu legend, it was created from the heart of Brahma, the god of creation. In ancient Sanskrit, it was called "Mana Sarova", which consisted of two characters: Mana (heart) and Sarova (lake). Many Hindus make a pilgrimage to this lake every year. Indian mythology holds that this lake is the summer habitat of swans.

Famucuo Lake is round, and there are some temples by the lake.
