Code for design of handrails

Position of handrail

Handrails should be set on both sides of the ramp, stairs and steps beyond the pole, and around the elevator, and the handrails should be coherent.

Handrail height

The height of the first floor handrail is 0.85m to 0.90m, and the height of the lower floor handrail is 0.65m when the second floor handrail is set.

Extension of handrail

The handrails of ramps, stairs and steps should extend horizontally for more than 0.30m at the starting point and the ending point.

Color and shape of handrails

The shape, specifications and colors of handrails should be easy to identify and master. The cross section of the handrail should be 35mm to 50mm, and the gap between the inside of the handrail and the wall should be 40mm.

Handrail material

Handrails should be made of high-quality wood or other better materials. Handrails must be firmly installed and can bear the weight of the body.
