Experience different Chaozhou culture, and you will like this city after reading it.
This time, I went to Chaozhou with a few friends for four days and three nights, and I deeply felt Chaozhou culture, tasted Chaozhou cuisine and experienced Chaozhou life. In fact, this is my second visit to Chaozhou, and I can't wait before I leave, because I fell in love with this city with cultural heritage and, of course, the food here when I first went there.
From Guangzhou to Chaozhou, you can take the bullet train in guangzhou east railway station or the high-speed train at Guangzhou South Railway Station. The price is almost the same, the high-speed rail takes about half an hour. In fact, I think both stations are similar, so you can choose a convenient station.

When we came to Chaozhou, we first chose the most classic route to experience Chaozhou culture, from Paifang Street to Guangjimen, then crossed Guangji Bridge to Hanwengong Temple, walked through the most classic tour route of this historic city and experienced the leisurely life of the local people. Go shopping in Paifang Street, enjoy the city scenery and humanities and arts in Guangji Bridge, and explore the ancient culture from the Tang Dynasty to the present in Hanwengong Temple.
Guangji Bridge is the earliest open-close bridge in the world, also known as Chaozhou Xiangzi Bridge. Located outside the East Gate of Chaozhou Ancient City, it is 5 18 meters long, spanning the Han River and connecting the east and west banks. The East Bridge is 283.35 meters long, with piers 12, abutments 1 and bridge holes 12. The west beam bridge is 137.3m long, with 8 piers and 7 holes, and the Liang Shi is 5m wide. The middle pontoon is 97.3 meters long and is connected by 18 wooden boats.
Guangji Bridge is now one of the eight scenic spots in Chaozhou, a famous cultural relic tourist attraction in Chaoshan area, and also a transportation hub from ancient Guangdong to Fujian and Zhejiang. It can be said that it bears the history of this city. Guangji Bridge was built in the seventh year of Southern Song Dynasty (1 17 1) and became an "eighteen-shuttle ship" in the ninth year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty (1530). 1958 for reinforcement and maintenance, dismantling 18 shuttle boats and rebuilding them into three-hole steel frames and two high-piled cap bridges; Comprehensive maintenance began in June 2003, and the overall style was mainly in the Ming Dynasty. Now, its main function is to locate as a sightseeing footbridge.
During the day, there are 18 wooden boats connecting the bridges on the east and west sides. At night, the wooden boats will be untied to let the ships on the north and south sides pass, every day.
After crossing the Guangji Bridge, go further, not far away is the Han Wengong Temple, which is the earliest existing temple in China to commemorate Han Yu, a writer of the Tang Dynasty, and is next to Hanshan Teachers College. Hanwengong Temple is surrounded by mountains and waters, with a quiet environment. There are plaques inscribed by famous artists hanging on the beams in the temple, and there are 40 inscriptions of past dynasties along the wall, among which there are many calligraphy treasures and precious materials for researching and interviewing literature and history, which make the Millennium ancient temple more solemn, elegant and literary. Walking into the Chinese Palace, you can enjoy the works of literati, and you can also quietly feel the quaint, elegant and solemn cultural atmosphere around you.
When I came to Chaozhou, I like the food here best, so today we specially tasted the authentic Chaozhou cuisine. The restaurant we chose is also a Chaozhou restaurant with many years of history-Yucheng Ji, which is said to have lasted for three generations. The address is E 16, Taiping Road, Paifang Street, 550 meters away from Zhu Mu gatehouse.
This is a restaurant in Paifang Street, but the price is very affordable, the environment is elegant and the products are great. It's authentic Chaozhou food, which is more delicious than Guangzhou. Chaoshan beef balls are super authentic. You must try them.
In the evening, we stayed in the leisure summer resort of Shixing Lake. This hotel is located on the Phoenix Mountain, which is rich in tea. The air is fresh and the environment is elegant, just like a paradise. When I went, it rained a little. When I got up in the morning, I found it was foggy outside, as if I were walking in a fairyland, and the air was particularly fresh. Every breath is filled with oxygen ions. There is a path behind the hotel. Go up the path and you will find Tianchi. When the weather is fine, you can still see the beautiful sunrise. Unfortunately, I didn't see it this time because of the weather. Come here to watch the sunrise next time.
the next day
On a red leisure day, we took the red cultural route today. In the morning, we drove to Yongshan Village, Raoping County. This is an ancient small village with ancient houses and small bridges. Feel free to wander around the village, enjoy the scenery all the way, and then walk around the Dragon House, which is very simple and comfortable.
There are still three dragon houses with a long history left in the village, all of which are listed as national historical protection cultural relics. One building is being renovated, and another is still occupied. I was very moved when I visited it. Seeing the big circle in the middle of the public area is like a big square. Looking around, it is the door of every household. Observe carefully and feel carefully, as if you can see the lively scene of living in the dragon circle between neighbors in the old society.
Now the village is basically old people and children, and most young people go out to work. There are not many people living in the Dragon Circle, but there must be many stories and memories here. I hope that Laolongwei can be renovated and continue to let more young people know the history and culture of Longwei.
In the afternoon, I went to Raoping Qinglan Geopark. Qinglan Geopark is located in Zhangxi Town, Raoping County, Chaozhou City, with an area of 23.22 square kilometers. It is divided into two parks: Qinglan-Xianglushan Heping Creek-Shuangjiniang Mountain, which is the only provincial geological park in eastern Guangdong. After investigation and study by experts, it is surprising that Fiona Fang was once the sea of Wang Yang 200 million years ago. Due to volcanic movement, the present geological wonders have been formed. Nature has ingeniously carved typical granite landforms in Qinglan area, such as caves, stone forests, peaks, canyons and stone mortar groups. Rare granite caves are called amazing discoveries, which are hard to find in other places, making them unique in China.
This is also the location of MCA FunAge Film's Iron Fist of Shame. The surrounding air is fresh, the environment is elegant, and it is particularly comfortable after a rain. The most special thing here is the magical, unique and rich natural landscape of the strange mortar valley. Ten-mile strange mortar valley, one valley is a collection of three natural wonders: strange mortar, strange cave and strange stone. Among them, "Nine-layer strange mortar" is the king of thousands of mortars and is called the monster of eastern Guangdong.
In the evening, we returned to the ancient city of Chaozhou. As night falls, we can enjoy the night view of the ancient city building. Tonight we are staying at the Han Hotel, which is in the downtown area of Paifang Street. This hotel is a good place to watch the night view. The roof is an outdoor activity area, where you can see the night view. There is also a special starry room on the roof of this hotel. You can lie in your room and watch the stars. This will be a super romantic thing.
the third day
Get up in the morning and try the authentic Chaozhou breakfast, sand tea mixed with kway teow and beef soup kway teow. It's really delicious, simple and delicious.
It rained a little this morning, but it didn't affect our interest. After breakfast, we set off for Zilian Forest Resort.
Chaozhou Zilian Forest Resort is located in the northeast of Chaozhou City, Guangdong Province, at the southern foot of Fenghuang Mountain, about 16 km away from Chaozhou City. Although it is not very close to the urban area, it is precisely because of this that it is far away from the hustle and bustle, surrounded by mountains and waters, with benevolent mountains and wise waters. It is a quiet and beautiful natural eco-tourism resort integrating tourism, natural health preservation, cultural experience and popular science education. In fact, you can stay here for a day or two.
There are many good teas planted on Zilian Mountain in Chaozhou. You must taste tea when you come here. When you are tired, you can sit down, chat with three or five friends every day, drink congou and feel life slowly.
There is also a Zilian restaurant, which specializes in authentic Chaozhou cuisine. If you come here to play, you can have lunch here, which is also delicious.
There are many entertainment projects in the resort, such as the celebrity glass bridge on the Internet, the VR and earthquake experience of the Science and Technology Museum, and the tea making process of the tea factory. Many interesting projects are suitable for adults and children. You can bring your family here to relax on weekends.
You can start with the store that sells ceramics. The first floor has three floors, 1 floor. The second floor is mainly used as a ceramic exhibition area, and the third floor is a coffee shop. I like this shop very much. I can stroll slowly from the first floor to the third floor, then find a window to have a cup of coffee and experience the slow life in Chaozhou.
Walking along Paifang Street, you can also find many art shops. In fact, many shops are not simple shops, but like an invisible exhibition hall, such as Kang Traditional Craft Embroidery Creative Center, Yi Taoxuan Museum, Laitong Hand-pulled Pot and so on.
In Paifang Street, you can not only see a dazzling array of Chaozhou commodities, but also learn more about Chaozhou's national and folk arts. The pottery industry here is developed and the hand-pulled pots are exquisite. These folk arts are priceless, and we seldom know about them. We can feast our eyes here and learn a lot of new artistic knowledge.
It's time for dinner. Eating authentic Chaozhou beef hotpot tonight is also in Paifang Street. We choose Chaozhou cuisine Saburo beef hotpot. Beef in this restaurant is served fresh every day. The address is at No.46 Dongmen Street, 430 meters walk from Zhumenlou. Chaoshan beef hotpot is a major feature here. Everyone must try it when they come. It's delicious to eat beef hotpot with sand tea sauce.
Stay in a nearby hotel tonight, Wushe Boutique Hotel, a very attractive hotel. The decoration style is new Chinese style, and the furniture and decoration are elegant. When I entered it, I felt calm. There are not many rooms and there is no noise. There is an open balcony on the second floor, where I can sit quietly in a daze. As soon as I brought my cheongsam, I took some favorite photos in the hotel. The owner of B&B is also very good. Invite us to have tea and chat at night to slow down the pace of life.
The fourth day
Chaozhou is a famous historical and cultural city in China, with rich intangible cultural heritage, such as hollowed-out wood carvings, hand-pulled pots, pottery, bead embroidery and embroidery ... On the last day, I was going back to Guangzhou in the afternoon, so I specially spent the morning visiting Chaozhou Intangible Heritage Museum and Baishi Garden, hoping to learn more about Chaozhou culture. In the intangible cultural heritage museum, there are very master works of art, each of which is extremely beautiful. It's really amazing after reading it, and I can't help but admire the exquisite skills of these traditional craftsmen!
Chaozhou's handicrafts can be recognized by everyone, and it is inseparable from the efforts of local artists. There are hundreds of famous contemporary artists here. In addition to making exquisite works of art, they are still passing on valuable intangible culture to young people, which is very admirable. I hope more people like traditional intangible culture.
In fact, there are many interesting places to go in Paifang Street. I recommend a homestay called Kapok Mansion at No.2 Dongping Road, Paifang Street, Chaozhou. This homestay is hidden in the ancient city of Chaozhou, which is very Republic-style. After entering the door, you are greeted by tiled flowers, phonographs, old TVs and rickshaws ... The whole building is very retro and nostalgic. Only by chatting with the boss did I know that this was an inn in the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China.
This trip to Chaozhou has made me know more about Chaozhou culture, and I like it more, like the humanistic atmosphere here, like the Chaozhou cuisine here, and like the handicrafts here. ...
I hope you have the opportunity to come to Chaoshan and feel the strong Chaoshan culture here. I'm sure you will like it as much as I do.
I am @ Magic Bend.
Record and share new and beautiful things.
