What's the difference between BEC and toeic?

First, the research and development units are different. BEC was developed by ESOL, the foreign language testing center of Cambridge University, which also developed IELTS test. BEC 1993 entered China. The TOEIC test was developed by educational testing service, which also developed the TOEFL test. The TOEIC exam entered China in 2002.

Second, the test items are different from the applicable population. BEC test mainly examines candidates' English communication ability in a pure business environment, including many professional business English vocabulary and grammar. Toe test mainly examines the English application ability of various occupations in real work scenes and daily life environment, downplays grammar knowledge and pays attention to practicality. BEC is only applicable to the examination of business students or business professionals, while toeic is applicable to all students and employees.

Third, the practicality is different. European companies recognize BEC, while American, Japanese and Korean companies recognize TOEIC. Some British university graduate students apply for recognition of BEC scores, and some Japanese and Korean universities need to provide TOEIC scores.
