Zhoushi Town is affiliated to Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province and is located in the north of Kunshan City. It is located at the junction of Kunshan, Taicang and Changshu. It was formed by the merger of the original Zhoushi, Xinzhen and Luyang towns. The southern part of the town is separated from the old city of Kunshan and the national-level Kunshan Economic and Technological Development Zone by a river, and the western part is connected with the Kunshan National High-tech Industrial Development Zone. Nearly half of the area is an important part of the central city of Kunshan.

Weicheng and Donglin City
The earliest local chronicle of Kunshan, "Yufeng Chronicle", says: " There used to be twelve people named after the city among the villages." According to Chen Zhaohong, an expert on literature and history, as early as the late Spring and Autumn Period, the State of Wu built two cities, Dongcheng and Xilucheng, in today's Yushan Town. Since the founding of the People's Republic of China, according to records in the Chronicles and through field surveys and archaeological excavations, fourteen ancient cities have appeared in Kunshan: Dongcheng, Xilucheng, Bacheng, Pheasant City, Nanwucheng, Weicheng, Dongcheng Lincheng, Hongcheng, Xicencheng, Yan County, Wapu City, Jincheng, Ducheng and Kunshan County, Niubang in Dongming Village of Zhou City, and Chenghuangtan in Xietang Village were where Donglin City and Weicheng were located at that time.
Chenghuangtan
Chenghuangtan Village is a natural village in Xietang Village, Zhoushi Town, at the junction with Shuangfeng Town, Taicang City. It is said that after Emperor Taizong of the Tang Dynasty unified the world, he made great achievements and sent Wei Chigong, a man of great military exploits, to Kunshan to guard and protect the peace. General Yuchi inspected the area and found that the area around Zhoushi, where King Wu used to hunt deer, was low-lying and densely populated with pools, where he could set up camps and station troops, build water conservancy projects, and develop farmland. After many years of construction by officers and soldiers, there are many pools running through it. Bandits have mistakenly entered it many times and never returned. Moreover, there are fish and shrimps wandering in the pond and chickens and ducks strolling beside the pond, creating a lively scene. It is said that after Yuchi Gong's death, the people were grateful for his kindness and respected him as the local patron saint "City God". Therefore, these pools were called City God's Pool.
Yemadu (Wild Cat Cave)
"Yemadu" was originally called "Wild Cat Cave". It is an ancient village on the north bank of the Loujiang River. It was named because it is overgrown with weeds, inaccessible, and wild cats. name. The famous Song Dynasty general Han Shizhong once defeated Jin Wushu here. Hundreds of war horses crossed the Loujiang River, a spectacular scene. In order to commemorate Han Shizhong, the common people called the ferry "Yemadu" with the homophonic pronunciation of "Yemao Cave". In the 1930s and 1940s, the "Yemadu" Township was established here, which is now Zhujing Village.
Baitatou
During the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty, Song Yifu, the magistrate of Kunshan, built a "Tide Waiting Pavilion" here. After that, every August 18th, the Kunshan County magistrate would hold a banquet in the pavilion. Welcome the arrival of the "Tide God". During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, people donated money to build a "Jade Pillar Tower" with a masonry structure. The tower was built in the middle of the river where the two rivers meet. Because of its white color, it is commonly known as the White Tower. Because of this tower, the area in the middle of the river is also collectively called the "White Tower", and the north of the tower, on the north bank of the Lou River, where people can stop (in today's Zhou Town), is called the "White Tower Head".
Wan'an Temple
Wan'an Temple, formerly known as Wan'an Hall, commonly known as Dutian Temple, is located on the south side of the stone bridge at Sanqianwan Bay in Xietang, on the main road on the bank of the pond and two buildings beside the river. In 1994, with the approval of the Kunshan Municipal Religious Affairs Bureau, the temple was rebuilt on the original site of Sanqianwan and renamed Wan'an Temple. In 1998, after application and approval, it was designated as a place for religious activities. On September 1, 2003, Wan'an Temple was incorporated into the management of Kunshan Buddhist Association. On December 13, 2003, the consecration ceremony was held at the Tianwang Hall. In 2006, the three holy temples in the west wing were built. Today's Wan'an Temple has lush green trees and quiet scenery, and there is an endless stream of people offering incense and worshiping Buddha.
"Zhou Guang Tomb", "Qian Shi Tomb"
"Kunshan County Chronicle" recorded in Jiajing Ming Dynasty (1522-1566), Zhou Guang, the minister of the Ministry of Punishment, and the head of the Nanjing Ministry of Punishment The tomb of Zhou Yu (former Yunnan Qianshi) was buried at the east tip of Zhoushi Town, known as "Zhou Guang Tomb" and "Qianshi Tomb". The tomb was destroyed after liberation.
Ming Zhou Guang (1474-1531), courtesy name Chongzhi, nicknamed Yuyan, was from Kunshan. In the 18th year of Hongzhi's reign, he became a Jinshi. He knew the two counties of Putian and Jishui, and had the most outstanding achievements in governance. In the seventh year of Jiajing, he became the Minister of the Ministry of Punishment. Two years later, he died of a sudden illness. Guang Ping was cold and cold, without a smile, but as a couple, he shocked the whole country. He was an official and powerful, and he was not able to be asked or trusted. All the scholars were afraid of him. The history of Ming Dynasty has its own biography. Guang wrote nine volumes of "Yuyan Collection" which has been handed down to the world. Gui Youguang, a great essayist from his hometown, has infinite admiration for this predecessor, and once wrote a biography of his Xinghua Bookstore ("Xinghua Bookstore"), which is famous throughout the ages.
Ming Dynasty Zhou Yu was the 114th Jinshi of the Wuchen Department in the 13th year of Zhengde in the Ming Dynasty. He was an official in the Ministry of Punishment and signed official affairs. He once served as a minister in Yunnan.
The current Zhoushi Old Health Center (Guangren Branch) is the former "Qianshi Tomb", and one mile east of the old health center is the "Zhou Guang Tomb". Before the liberation, there were stone benches, stone horses, and a ginkgo tree that only a few people could hug next to the mausoleum. After the liberation, it was destroyed and a villa was built, so it was named Zhoushu. ?
Zhendong Overseas Chinese Town
In Zhendong Village, Zhoushi Town, Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province, it is a village composed of more than 30 European-style "small foreign-style buildings" built during the Republic of China. It was found to be the only hometown of overseas Chinese in southern Jiangsu.
