What should hotel guests do if they spend the night?

Hotel visitors are not allowed to stay overnight. The public security law requires real-name registration of hotel accommodation, which is convenient for grasping the check-in information, cracking down on crimes at large and intercepting wanted suspects. Now the newly implemented anti-terrorism law also requires real-name accommodation. According to Article 21 of the Anti-Terrorism Law of People's Republic of China (PRC), operators and service providers such as telecommunications, Internet, finance, accommodation, long-distance passenger transport and motor vehicle rental. The identity of the customer should be checked. No service shall be provided to persons whose identities are unknown or who refuse inspection.

According to Article 6 of the Measures for the Administration of Public Security in Hotel Industry, hotels must register for receiving passengers' accommodation. At the time of registration, the passenger's identity documents shall be checked and truthfully registered in accordance with the prescribed items. To receive accommodation from overseas tourists, an accommodation registration form shall also be submitted to the local public security organ within 24 hours.

Article 56 of the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on Public Security Administration Punishment stipulates that hotel staff who fail to register the names, types and numbers of the staying passengers, or who knowingly bring dangerous goods into the hotel without stopping them, shall be fined between 200 yuan and 500 yuan.
