Wandering in Laos for six days (2)
When the tour leader set out from Guangzhou, he repeatedly reminded us that Laos is the country with the worst economy in Southeast Asia, so its food and accommodation conditions are incomparable to those in China and other regions. But judging from yesterday's meal and hotel conditions, it feels good. The hotel room is spacious and clean, with complete facilities, convenient air conditioning control, and clothes are dried overnight. Last night's Chinese food and this morning's breakfast were of high quality and rich in dishes, especially fresh and sweet fruits. I made a rule for myself that every meal should be 80% full to avoid getting fat after traveling in the past.
This is the breakfast I had this morning. It's not too much.
There are almost no high-rise buildings in Laos. Our hotel has five floors, which is high in Vientiane, the capital. The dining room is on the fifth floor. After breakfast, we took pictures in the restaurant, and the scenery was good.
The first stop today is to visit the Giant Buddha Park, also known as Xiang Kun Temple. Many sculptures in the park are Buddha statues, and the statues are various, more like a sculpture park. It was built by an imaginative monk. A giant reclining Buddha statue in the temple and a "big pumpkin" statue with heaven, earth and hell written on it are very famous. The park has beautiful scenery. We appreciate the scenery while enjoying the Buddha statues and sculptures. Not far from the park is the Mekong River, and across the river is Thailand.
After visiting the Buddha statue park, we set off for Wanrong. On the way, I met a very lively scene: many gold tables in a golden shed surrounded a large area, and a group of young girls were holding flower baskets. We thought it was a wedding, and the tour guide explained that someone had a farewell party when he became a monk. This is an unwritten custom in Laos. Everyone must be a monk for at least three days, and there is no limit to more.
Lao people are mild, stealing, robbing, beating and taking drugs are rare, and there are almost no beggars. It is really difficult to become a monk in a temple, which is also a good way out. For people with faith, living in a country full of faith is a great happiness.
Today's play plan is from Vientiane to Wanrong. The journey is 200 kilometers and the driving time is about 3.5 hours. At noon, we had dinner in the Chinese restaurant of Viagra Private Cuisine on the roadside. The restaurant specially marked live chickens and live fish. It's a couple's shop opened by Hunan people, and all the Hunan dishes are to my taste. But most members of our group couldn't stand spicy food, so the boss apologized and sent a pot of vegetable soup. Tiger beer, a specialty of Laos, I don't know how to taste it, but the people in the group praised it while drinking! It is a famous brand in Laos. The group members and the restaurant owner talked and laughed enthusiastically, and the restaurant owner was very happy. He said that only people who see the motherland can laugh heartily. Laotians are gentle, whispering and don't like talking loudly. He said that when couples quarrel here, the police will arrest people.
After listening to it, I feel that it is better to be gentle or cheerful. Which one do I like?
It was almost dusk when I came to Wanrong. We checked into the hotel first, then went to the Blue Lagoon and visited the Songnan River. The hotel is newly built and has just been put into use, and some facilities are still not perfect. The hotel environment is good, and the rooms I went to are also very good. The bathroom, the bathroom area is very large, and it feels a bit wasteful. When we set out, the tour guide told us that we might go into the water to play with our equipment, but I don't think there is enough time, so I don't plan to go into the water. I plan to just visit and take pictures.
You Wanrong first looked at the beautiful peaks here. This is not artificial at all. The mountain peaks soar into the sky. Seen dangerous mountains and strange water, the "blue lagoon" is worthy of the name. The lake is as blue as the sea and very beautiful. The islands in the lake rise from the bridge like pearls in the sea.
There are also some unique trees by the lake, which can be used as platform jumping or divided into high platform and low platform, depending on your courage and diving skills. Watching from the high or low tree platforms one by one, tourists from all over the world are eager to try. Don't be afraid at all. It's actually quite safe. You can put on a life jacket and indulge in platform diving. We didn't have enough time, and only a few members of the group went into the water to play. It was also a pleasure for me to watch.
Leave the "Blue Lagoon" and cross the Songnan River in Wanrong City again. The scenery on both sides is beautiful! There are so many hotels that tourists from all over the world linger.
