The difference between rye bread and whole wheat bread

These two kinds of bread are different in nature, color and taste.

Different in nature: rye bread is made of rye, also called rye, which is a kind of grain grown in temperate regions of Europe. Whole wheat bread refers to bread made of whole wheat flour. Generally speaking, flour is ground from wheat grains without bran, while whole wheat flour is ground from whole wheat grains with bran.

Different colors: whole wheat bread is dark gray, similar to chocolate, and the structure of bread is dense, while the color of whole wheat bread is light yellow. Because of the existence of bran, the color is darker than ordinary bread, and the whole wheat bread has loose structure and obvious holes.

Different taste: rye bread has higher humidity, lower gluten and protein content than wheat flour, softer taste and slightly sour taste. Whole wheat flour has stronger gluten, chewy bread, rough texture and obvious wheat flavor.
