Yarlung Zangbo Rive Canyon
The Yarlung Zangbo River is the highest river in the world, with an average elevation of over 3,000 meters. Its downstream surrounds the highest peak at the eastern end of the Himalayas, forming a peculiar horseshoe-shaped bend, cutting a huge canyon 504 kilometers long on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. The average depth of the canyon is 2268 meters, and the deepest part is 6009 meters. It is undoubtedly the largest canyon in the world. The Colorado Grand Canyon in the United States and the Colca Grand Canyon in Peru were once ranked as the highest in the world, but neither of them can be compared with the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon.
The Yarlung Zangbo River Grand Canyon, reflecting the snow-capped mountains, glaciers and gloomy and primitive forests, is shrouded in mist and mysterious. The water in the Grand Canyon, from solid ice and snow to boiling hot springs, from trickle, curtain waterfall to surging river, is really varied. The mountains in the Grand Canyon, from the mountains covered with tropical rain forests to the snow-capped mountains soaring into the sky, all make people feel ingenious.
The unique landscape of the Grand Canyon is also reflected in biodiversity. On the same slope, nine vertical natural zones are formed from high to low. Natural belts at different heights present different natural landscapes, just like a magical and beautiful picture scroll unfolding in the air. Here, you can see animals and plants distributed from the cold North Pole to the hot equator. Many precious trees and flowers grow in inaccessible places, and all kinds of wild animals climb through them, which deserves the reputation of "plant type museum" and "animal kingdom"
The discovery of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is one of the most important geographical events in the last century. It can be predicted that in this century, the Yarlung Zangbo River Grand Canyon will surely become the focus of people all over the world.
Yarlung Zangbo Rive Canyon
The Yarlung Zangbo River Grand Canyon is located in Milin County and Medog County in Linzhi area. The entrance of the Grand Canyon is in Paixiang, Milin County, and the exit is in Pasigart Village, Medog County, with a total length of 504.6 kilometers, which is 56 kilometers longer than the Grand Canyon in the United States. With a limit depth of 6009 meters, the Yarlung Zangbo River Grand Canyon ranks among the world's largest in depth and length.
The elevation of the whole canyon ranges from 29 10 meters at the entrance of the canyon to 155 meters at the exit of pasighat. Within a linear distance of more than 40 kilometers, the riverbed drops nearly 3 kilometers. Due to this unique natural geographical condition, the Yarlung Zangbo River Grand Canyon has concentrated two-thirds of the hydraulic resources of the entire Yarlung Zangbo River in a short length of more than 500 kilometers, which is within its unit area.
The scenery of the Grand Canyon that we have seen the most on TV and magazines is undoubtedly the Yarlung Zangbo River Zhaqu Bend in Zhaqu Village, the northernmost part of the Grand Canyon. The Yarlung Zangbo River, which is controlled by the geological tectonic line, was forced to change direction after flowing through the school district of Milin County, Linzhi Prefecture, and flowed to the northeast, where it joined Palong Zangbo at about 95 degrees east longitude. Then it made a sharp turn of nearly 180 degrees around the world's highest peak 15 at an altitude of 7782 meters, like a giant axe, splitting the blocked East Himalayas and heading straight for the flat and wide Indian plain, which was formed in Medog County, Linzhi District.
Today's tectonic movements, represented by earthquakes, are frequent and intense, constantly changing the topography of the Grand Canyon area. The biggest earthquake in Chinese mainland in this century occurred in the Grand Canyon in Medog County. This super-large earthquake, with a magnitude of 8.5 on the Richter scale and an intensity of 12 degrees, occurred on August 5, 1950. Not only were mountains and rivers easy to accommodate, but rivers were blocked for several days, and the earth-shattering burst of its banks led to a flood in Assam Plain in the lower reaches of India. But what worries us latecomers even more is that the legendary mysterious and beautiful "Xia Hong Waterfall" also disappeared in the landslide, leaving only a mysterious legend in the vast jungle.
